Very simple question. My vote goes toward better, the beta felt fresh and somewhat original, even if it is only a small step above the original.
Edit: I'm actually surprised at all the optimism! Good to see people are so excited for what I believe is going to be a superior game!
Edit 2: Thanks for all the support on this post! We've made it into trending!

2 RespuestasA game built around a shitty 2 primary loadout catered to PvP vs. A game with an amazing weapon loadout, powerful abilites, and weapons Hmmm, I wonder which one is better?
-
1 RespuestaJudging by all the footage I've seen, yes. Take Homecoming for example. More inspiration and dedication was put into that than the entirety of D1 Vanilla.

2 RespuestasObjectively? Yes. Subjectively? That's up to the individual.

I think it will eventually be as good or better than Destiny. It will take them some time to get the balance where they want it. They have already improved the pvp aspect of the game (although personally not a fan of the 4v4 model). The feel of the pvp in the Destiny 2 beta was real good to me. It sort of made me want to play pvp more. Although there is a kinda big issue imo with team-shooting, which has already been brought up by multiple people. Hopefully players will not have as much of an issue in non-objective type games (if there are any). TBH i have no idea how good the pve will be in the game. I'm optimistic that it will be fun with the more news that comes out. Adding tons of activities & events, new engram categories, possible multiple types of vehicles, and multiple studios releasing content for the game. However there are somethings that make me not sure about it such as lack of planets/space areas that we have already visited in Destiny. I'm not asking them to put the same missions, but at minimum a patrol with some new missions. I'm sure it will be good overall, we just have to wait and see.

1 RespuestaI feel the game play will be better, but nothing in either game will be better than the first time I went through the VoG.

1 RespuestaWhere's the answer "Yes, but that's not saying much."

2 RespuestasKinda already is and we've only seen/played 10% of it.

4 RespuestasWhat i think is that its going to be a total disappointment again What i want is the mmo fps bungie advertised with lots of content and variety to keep me playing as much as i play other mmos.

I wish I had an I'm not sure option but I'm concerned with the removal of a lot of things I enjoyed from the game (invis, sun breaker, etc.) And those of you who are gonna reply with boohoo you can't use your crutch or some otherwise self righteous comment I'm saying I enjoyed them in PvE, and when was invisibility ever a crutch?

Although the story mission was ok, nothing else filled me with confidence 😳

3 RespuestasBased on the beta, it's already better.

1 RespuestaEditado por DeusFever: 7/31/2017 9:31:18 PMI'd love to say Destiny 2 will be better, but based on the beta, looks like a mixed bag of changes. There is definitely an improvement to the storytelling, and thank the Traveler we won't have any more vague references to the Darkness, "I could tell you", and "don't have time to explain why I don't have time to explain". I'm not sure why the price for this is a silent protagonist. I grew tired of this story telling method way back when Half Life 2 was released. I'm also not sure why PvE is saddled with the new weapon system. For PvP, the new weapon system is great but the bargain also comes with 4v4 only and no dedicated servers. Maybe Bungie is doing a poor job of marketing this game. Maybe there are more surprises they are afraid to show us. Either way I think Destiny 2 will be a welcome amount of new content for veterans and not something that sets the world on fire.

too early to tell. Just based on the beta........gameplay seems worse, but just the story mission was better than anything in all of Vanilla destiny. There seems to be like a million little changes that i don't like. The tight feel of the controls is gone. Which is one of the biggest things Destiny had over other games i play. Me being able to have a sniper main Hunter....or shotgunning Titan is gone. Now i can run around with 2 primaries for some reason. Which isn't fun. 4v4 isn't as good as 6v6. The control map was super tiny....and now we don't even have to bother capturing other flags. So its just everyone run to 1 flag and fight there for 20 mins. Skill trees are dumbed down. No unique builds or rolls. No dedicated support classes. Roaming supers is stupid. Only 1 person getting power ammo while all 4 of u are standing there is stupid. So not only can i go a whole PVP match without getting a super....i won't get a sniper rifle, shotgun or fusion either? Great. Guess i'll just run around w/ an assault rifle the whole time. to be fair. Destiny 1 PVP is terrible rn anyway. Bungie ruined it w/ the special ammo and heavy ammo nonsense. So its not like i want to play that anymore either.

In some ways yes in other ways no. It all depends on the person honestly.

9 RespuestasEditado por TheBeejAbides: 8/1/2017 3:53:53 AMIt will never feel as good as Year 1 Destiny. The feeling of newness, the feeling of getting hard to obtain exotics, the feeling of the Pocket Infinity raining down fiery death upon foolish Fellwinter rushers... its just lost the magic: the space magic. Will there be more to do? Probably. Will it feel better to do those things? Nope.

I think for many longtime D1 players it will all depend on the story and how the PVE side of the game goes. If it suddenly goes all Star Trek alternate universe thingamajig and pretty much makes everything we did in D1 seem irrelevant? Then yeah, it will be dead in the water. Maybe some new gamers will pick up the banner. But old players will just walk away. I think a lot of people are beginning to look at it that way. If a company can't do a good story and back story? what good is the game. It's nothing more than just another shooter that will leave you with memories about like sonic the hedgehog or Mario brothers. By the look of the games pre-order numbers, it appears that the Bungie's team's past transgression is coming back to haunt them. My take on Bungie's way of dealing with players is pretty much the same way cable and satellite companies deal with customers. They pander to the new players but completely ignore the loyal players. I know lots and lots of people who put thousands of hours into Destiny and now feel like the carpet is going to be pulled out from under them. That's not a feeling you want to give loyal consumers.

Probably when the 2018 September dlc releases fixing all the issues.

Game's not even out yet. Not really worth comparing Destiny which has been around for three years pretty much to its follow up which has barely been given air time. I think it has the potential to out do Destiny but only time will tell.

62 RespuestasEditado por jvc: 8/1/2017 9:34:08 PMI don't understand why people think it could be worse than D1. D1 was a mess. How did this simple comment cause all this...
-
Based on the beta most people think that alone is better than D1. So you would expect the actual game will also be better.
-
People want storytelling man it's pretty simple.
-
I hope so. But I have a lot of doubts. I think they wont be able to capture that mystery and excitement for the first game anymore. Im really hoping the final result will be a more beautifull and better Destiny. C'mon Bungie!

Based on the beta, I see and feel no difference between the quick and competitive playlists with so many team shots and also slow as shit pve pacing. Total fun killing for me
