What happened to pro-LGBT Trump - the guy who said he was a friend to the LGBT community and would fight for them?
Thank you to the LGBT community! I will fight for you while Hillary brings in more people that will threaten your freedoms and beliefs.
Joint Chiefs: 'No modifications' to transgender policy from Trump tweet
There will be “no modifications” to the military’s transgender policy as a result of President Donald Trump’s declared ban on transgender men and women on Twitter, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs said in a message to top military officers on Thursday -- the latest sign of the disarray following the commander-in-chief's abrupt announcement.
Marine Gen. Joe Dunford also wrote in the message, which was sent to the chiefs of the military branches and senior enlisted leaders, that the military will continue to “treat all of our personnel with respect.”
“I know there are questions about yesterday's announcement on the transgender policy by the President,” Dunford wrote in the internal communication, a copy of which was provided to POLITICO. “There will be no modifications to the current policy until the President's direction has been received by the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary has issued implementation guidance.”
“In the meantime, we will continue to treat all of our personnel with respect. As importantly, given the current fight and the challenges we face, we will all remain focused on accomplishing our assigned missions,” he continued.
2 RespuestasEditado por Vithurr: 7/27/2017 5:43:54 PMTo all of you in this thread who say that gay people and trans people and women threaten unit cohesion, you are wrong stop spewing your bullshit. You must not know how actual soldiers in the military think. When they are in a firefight and they look to the person next to them they aren't going to see a gay person or a trans person or a woman. They will see straight through that. They are going to see their buddy who is going to help them.

10 RespuestasObama didn't allow it for 7 of his 8 years as president

5 RespuestasGood, now those mentally ill people can -blam!- off.

3 RespuestasWhere did he say he would allow trans in the military. Specifically.

4 RespuestasDemographic with one of the highest rates of suicide to serve in the forces. Sounds stupid no? Where the -blam!- is your compassion Mad Max

14 RespuestasSoldiers don't serve individually. They are parts of units, divisions, etc. Now, I don't care how this might upset people, but here's the truth: Not everyone accepts trans people. Gays too, but that's not what we're talking about right now. So, 1) People making up these groups will not all feel comfortable being around a person going through this. Doesn't matter if they have no reason to feel discomfort. Not everyone has or will accept it. Soldiers that aren't comfortable around their squad mates will cause more harm than good, and it's easier to remove one than several. 2) Surgeries to get these changes are expensive and leave the person getting them incapacitated for lengthy periods of time. Military personnel need to be ready to deploy at any time. If you're incapacitated for lengthy periods of time, and shit hits the fan during one? You're a liability, not an asset. 3) I don't know whether or not the government has to pay for these, but just like birth control and virility increasers, it should not be paid by others but by you and only you. If they still have to pay for it/comes out of their paychecks, then ignore this one. So for those reasons, while I admire a person's resolve to defend their country, and I have nothing against those desires, 1 and 2 are enough to discharge them.

14 RespuestasMentally ill people shouldn't be allowed near firearms max. The military has one or two guns last I checked.
-
If you want to serve your country, you should be allowed no matter the race, religion, sex, gender. They are veteran's that has done more for our county then Trump and his whole family combined. I have noticed that Trump is also trying destroy or dismantle everything Obama did as President. Trump is a jealous crying child throwing a 70 year old temper tantrum.

He's probably given up on pandering to people who already hate him. Might as well keep charging up your base.

I believe that everyone, who is able body, can serve in our military. I do agree about the part about the expensive medical procedures and I can see that being abused. But a flat out ban is just irrational overreacting.

2 RespuestasDo Americans have a right to military service?

A demographic known for high suicide rates shouldn't serve in the military.

21 RespuestasI always assumed your right wingers were pro military. Why do they want it weaker?

As much as I hate to say this, I agree with Trump on this. God help me.

Thats what politicians do. All of them. They lie. You cant act butthurt about a polly lying if they all do, else youd spend forever just being butthurt. It makes sense to restrict access if they are costing more than theyre worth. Thats how the labor market works.

2 RespuestasMax, you're kinda late on this... someone already made a post.

28 RespuestasGood. The military doesn't need the extra burden of paying for people to object themselves with hormones or finance surgery. You can't generally be accepted into the military if you are diabetic either.

8 RespuestasHe listened to the advice of the generals ya know, the ones who pretty much run the military.. The ones who know more about it and it's inner workings than ya know.. Anyone else. Life isn't fair. The military reserves the right to be unfair in order to protect its best interests. I can't get into the military either. Oh well, it's not the end of the world. Get over it. Oh right.. I made a typo earlier in a reply to you so my my point is mute.
