It's simple, they've gone back to Halo-era power weapons as opposed to heavy weapons, with power weapons being any one-shot-kill capable weapon.
I, for one, welcome the -blam!- out of this change, but then again, I was a massive Bungie-era Halo fan, so I'm generally on board with anything that makes Destiny more Halo.

I don't like Halo and I wont buy Destiny 2 unless this is reverted which is unlikely.
-
....and most of the people who play the PVE part of this game are NOT Halo fans.
-
If they're going to try and make Destiny like Halo this game is going to faceplant so hard....
-
Do everyone a favor and go play Halo then delete your Bungie account and stay off the forums. Destiny is not Halo, nor should it be turned into Halo. Go over to 343 forums and stay there.
-
Why the hell would he delete a Bungie account when they're the ones who created Halo but 343 took over because Microcock screwed over bungie.
-
Because Bungie is never going to make another Halo game.
-
Is this a "trigger" thing I keep reading about?
-
Editado por Hitchenson: 7/26/2017 12:46:34 PMWhy would I do that when Destiny's heading closer to my ideal, anyway? I think you need to chill out a bit.
-
There are other games that are already your "ideal" why would you encourage -blam!-ing this one up? Go play one of the ones you already like -blam!-er.
-
There's no such thing as a one-shot-kill-weapon in D2, at least judging for the Beta. I landed 5 golden gun shots in a orange/yellow major in the strike and he didn't died.
-
You're using the sad pvp skill tree tho. Its the other perk tree for GG you want. We all want that perk tree.
-
What's really sad is that the PvP tree is designed in such a way that you'll never actually get the full benefit of it in PvP. 6 shots in 4v4 with an absurdly short uptime is laughable.
-
That's probably already been fixed since they presented this build to Microsoft and Sony months ago
-
Why don't you just play Halo?
-
Why don't you just play Halo?
Because I bought a PS4.

Editado por Hitchenson: 7/26/2017 8:39:49 AMI can't collect loot in Bungie-era Halo, obvs, and I don't like 343i's take on the series.
-
In Halo 1-4 I ran mission with shotty-snipers or rocket launcher-snipers as often as I could. Power weapons are fun in missions. Now imagine running a mission like The Covenant in Halo 3 without the Spartan Laser. Welcome to Destiny 2.
-
That makes no sense. If halo had this system then I could run a battle riffle ar/sub machine gun and rocket or Spartan laser. Plus in halo you could only run two weapons at any given time.
-
I always thought the 2 weapons at a time in Halo was a brilliant strategic decision, but if you read through the Halo oral history (Google it, can't remember link), you find it was because of limited memory. Worked so well they carried it into the sequels. Makes sense because Master Chief's back is only so big. Anyway, it's fun to have no other limits on the weapons you can hold, unlike with Destiny 2.

Editado por Hitchenson: 7/26/2017 8:41:43 AMOf all the criticisms people have been sharing about the beta, the one that's been given a reply from Bungie is that regarding power ammo in PvE and they've said they increased the drop rates as well as making certain enemy types always drop power ammo. I'm pretty confident you'll be able to snipe/rocket/fusion etc. away to your hearts content. Do we know if ammo synths are still a thing or not? None of that is even taking into account possible exotic gear ala Ruin Wings, either.
-
Everytime you change weapon in the same slot you lose ammo. Change from a rocket to a sniper and back to a rocket and you'll see your ammo vanish in the air
-
I'm afraid, given Bungie's history with Destiny changes, I'm going to need more detail on the power ammo drop buffs before that's a comfort. This is the team that tried to convince us that a 0.04% autorifle buff was 'significant', after all. I would not be at all surprised with this team to find that while purple bricks drop slightly more often, they only provide one shot each and all power weapons have had their magazines and reserve ammo lowered to compensate for the increased drop rate. I'm not saying it will happen, but the mindset leading to such a change wouldn't be out of character. At the minimum, I'd need to be given what the % chance was in beta, what the % chance will be at launch, and the criteria for an 'always drop' enemy.
-
Agree! In Halo you could run to different types of Rocket launchers if you wanted to!
-
That's a bad comparison, as destiny is a PVE focused game while halo is all about PVP.
-
Editado por Hitchenson: 7/26/2017 8:51:00 AMI don't think it's that bad of a comparison, because well, it's exactly what's happened, same terminology and all. Neither do I think it's entirely down to PvP for the newfound weapon slot system - it mostly felt like nobody ever used something other than a sniper as their special weapon in PvE and if you did in a raid, say, you'd likely be castrated by your fireteam - so doesn't it make sense to lump them together with rockets and the like where they actually face some competition? Obviously PvP and wanting to keep PvE/PvP practically the same does come into play a bit, but really, even purely as a PvE-thing I think this change makes total sense.
