Year 1 - fun, fast, unbalanced but only if you didn't play the meta, competitive (primaries are great and special is as well)
Year 2 - fun, medium paced, balanced, competitive with lots of tourneys (primaries are good and special is balanced)
Year 3 - ehh, medium paced, unbalanced and very special reliant with the nerfs, not competitive at all (primaries are trash other than hand cannons and special is ok but harder to get)
Year 4/Destiny 2 - boring, slow paced, unbalanced, power ammo is extremely overpowered and supers are a joke (primaries are very weak and abilities are as well)
So basically each year of destiny bungie nerfed more and more as we many of us asked for the opposite. Now 3-4 years later with destiny 2 we have a extreme nerf on everything, which makes the game completely different and stale. Honestly bungie... WTF?!

I just want to point out that the missions were also 10 LL higher than our character for the beta However I do agree with the fact that ability recharge and supers are extremely slow

I wouldn't call year 2 balanced since the only primary anybody ever used was a pulse rifle

You could have the most balanced game in the world and it can also be the most boring. Balance does not equal a good time. Look at overwatch. Fast, balanced and fun.

I can see the appeal of overwatch and I find it to be fun, but due to the slow pace of combat I find it boring and slow. The game is good and obviously successful. However, I would say that the best of destiny pvp would most definitely mop the floor with any player from overwatch. A) destiny is faster than overwatch: fact B) the player base just doesn’t put up with anything C) guardians are just better:) As for my stats? I’m not sure what you mean. My K/D? Dude, message me anytime and I’ll ruin you in any arena. See point A, B or C. My other stats? I’m not sure what you’d like to call out but I’ll let you fire back....

Great, smart, and skilled Destiny players on THIS forum? Definitely not. Great players and pros couldn't give less of a shit about this forum or the people on it. Really though, I don't blame them. Agreed and I appreciate the Overwatch comment, I have such hate for that game. Maybe it’s that their fan base is more fanatical than ours and I just can’t abide that. Or that the characters look like cartoon rejects I can never take seriously in PVP. On a real note I’m pretty excited for the weapon and armor mods. The interchangeable possibilities are mind boggling and I hope they’re not tied to some stupid RNG algorithm with the flip of good old three of coins. Maybe the lost sectors? I’m curious what you think.
