This review has 100% nailed the beta

I agree with this review article 100%. This guy nailed it. https://www.forbes.com/sites/insertcoin/2017/07/20/from-cooldowns-to-weapon-loadouts-destiny-2-has-hurt-pve-to-help-pvp/#24ac5f9c1580 Unfortunately me and several players in our clan have already canceled our pre order of the game. I have logged 1657 hours = 9 weeks 6 days 1 hour 3 minutes 44 seconds in Destiny 1 playing the PVE and PVP of the game. I can not justify paying $125.00 for a game that is broken from the start by favoring one part of the game over the other.

  • The beta is worse than the one for Destiny 1. Everything sucks. The weapon loadout is cancer, and PvP is the worst it's ever been.

    • "The PVE game tuning has changed pretty significantly since the Beta build was deployed. The nature of a Beta of this scale requires that it’s based off a build of the game that is now months old. So, in many cases, your feedback is helping us validate changes that were previously made based on internal feedback and playtesting. For example, we too felt that ammo (especially power ammo) was too scarce in PvE. In addition to retuning the drop rates, we built a system that guarantees power ammo drops for you and your Fireteam from certain enemies, giving power weapons a more reliable and predictable role in your arsenal. Other areas where we’ve made significant tuning changes include grenade effectiveness in PvE, Boss vitality, and weapon damage against non-player combatants."

Sounds like you jumped the gun by pre-ordering when you where already skeptical about the game. Then you do it again by canceling said pre-order after playing the beta. You do know that a beta isn't "exactly" what the game will be right? Maybe next time just wait until the game is released to make a decision on buying.

      • It's hilarious that so many people who shit on Bungie for being "greedy" (for selling games for money and DLC for money) cite pieces of turd like Forbes mag to prove their points. Forbes does not pay their writers. They are "contributors" who are told the platform they are given is payment enough. You'll also note there are plenty of ads on the Forbes articles. That's so Forbes can make money, none of which they pay to their writers who stoke the ire of all of you edgelord mongoloids on this forum. So the next time you ask someone who enjoys playing destiny "how's bungies dick taste fanboy?", make sure you take forbes' choad out of your throat so we can figuratively hear you loud and clear.

        • Lol, well PVE sucks so bad that they should always favor pvp! It's what they have always done( get used to it), and it doesn't "ruin" the
shittu
PVE experience in the slightest
despite common belief and regular tantrums by noobs In the community such as yourself
• ..The guy makes some strong points in the article. Bungie wants PvP to be part of the MLG circuit.Every time they tweek PvP the hurt PvE. If Bungie loves its PvP why not give it Dedicated Servers? Why And how is it that they can't Separate PvP from PvE? If Bungie some how gets their head out of their own @$$ and manages to Give Destiny Dedicated Servers or Balance PvP without hurting PvE Destiny2 would be Games of the year. But will i cancel my pre-order? NO i made a decision to pre-order and i will live with the decision Good or Bad come September 6.

                • I have been mentally reviewing my experience playing the mission three times and the multiple times I've played the strike and I don't really remember ever thinking it was hard. As a matter of fact, the only times I died was when my guardian moved too slowly to get in Zavala's bubble, or too slowly to destroy the turbine, or my character didn't have the agility to make a jump in the strike. The hype around the giant drill and the big boss fight in the strike was overblown, as the drill part is easy to run through and the boss fight is not difficult or tricky in any way. The ads don't really pose much of a threat and if you keep moving with an eye on the boss and keep a good distance away then you will survive. There really aren't any mechanics to defeat mini-Atheon. If I had to pick a word to describe the PVE experience of the beta it would be "tedious". The TTK caused more difficulties than anything else Bungie dreamed up. The lack of grenades, supers, and running out of primary ammunition made the game play seem harder. If Bungie implements changes to improve those shortcomings, they PVE side is not going to get better. It will be worse than grinding through year one of Destiny as the rewards are going to be the same weapons with the same perks. Tedious and boring. Probably not what Bungie was trying to accomplish, but at least PVP will be "balanced".

                  • After playing the beta, I agree 100% with the guy. But I'm still going to purchase the game. I have faith that our feedback is heard and from the TWAB we already know that things are being changed for the better.

                  • Sorry, at which part are we supposed to care? Leave, I really dont think bungie will miss you and your clan. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, but you dont have to go waving it around as if it is a fact. Woah, imagine that, a destiny without this clan... Wait, it makes no difference.

                    • 79 days logged with D1. Can't understand your perspective. Beta had been awesome. And they've already said this is an old Meta. If you cancelled because of a beta, that's somewhat hasty.

                        • Yep...I like crucible and I like taking people to the shed for a whooping in it. But the best experiences I've had in Destiny have all been in PvE. The raids. The lost to light mission to get the black spindle. How hard Skolas was to beat until we finally figured it out. Those were the best moments. You don't get those in PvP too often. Only the lighthouse that was my only time I was pumped about winning in PvP. The rest of the time I didn't care that much.

                        • Not sure I fully agree with the article. Yes there seems to be a major focus on PvP but I think the changes weren't completely without PvE in mind. Destiny 1 you were way too overpowered for PvE, the only things that made those story missions and strikes and raids hard were the mechanics (none in the story and strikes hence it was not hard - everyone just ran through everything). I feel now with increased cooldowns and having special and heavy combined, the PvE content will be much more difficult and rewarding. You'll have to plan when to use your super and grenades, not just throw them around while walking through a battle knowing it'll come back in 2 minutes. For everyone that enjoyed that, I can see why you think Destiny 2 will suck since its not gonna be a quick walk in the park anymore. Enemy difficultly hasn't increased at all which I'm disappointed with but at least I felt we aren't the overpowered guardians of Destiny 1. Most missions in Destiny 1 I'm fairly sure you all ran through, not caring about living, holding the special weapon and knowing your rockets were there if you in a tight situation or just put up a bubble. There was no real feeling of being in a tight corner, no desperation, no urge for to really try to win - I could do anything and would be pretty sure I'd clear the mission because heavies and abilities just dominated the PvE content. So that's why I feel these changes may make the story and PvE content more intense and rewarding hopefully. It'll be a much more tactical approach to the stories. As for PvP, the changes are spot on noted in the Forbes article. But the increase in primary usage will def urge a more strategic approach to the matches which is gonna be good. Alrite my 2 cents haha.
