Sony should be scared. Microsoft is coming out with a box that's 30 percent more powerful and can play nati- oops. Checkerboard 4k just like the pro. Also, the Xbox one x is quite ugly. Wonder who designed it.

Native 4k

You're on PS, invalid argument.
-
Actually, Im a PC player
-
You have a PS, too... Biased opinion.
-
How is this biased. I don't use it. I was planning on getting an Xbox one x till I saw the specs.
-
Ugly, lol wut?
-
This is obvious bait.
-
It's also true
-
That's it's ugly? That's an opinion. That some games run in checkerboard? Yes, but he fails to mention that the point of checkerboard is to by dynamic. Games that run in cb on the X will still be way better than games that run in CB on the Pro.
-
That's it's ugly? That's an opinion.
You're right.
Games that run in cb on the X will still be way better than games that run in CB on the Pro.
They really won't be. That's not an opinion. That's a fact.
-
They really will be. Say they are running at 1080p/1440p checkerboard on the Pro whereas on the X they would be running at 1440p/4k cb. People say that "o tey runn ceckerboord jus lik teh PRo!!1! they r teh sam res!!!! Xxxd" when checkerboard is not a set resolution. It's the same story with dynamic. I haven't even mentioned the 4k textures and assets that devs can achieve with the X. Even if it did run at the same res as the Pro (as if) then the actual graphical settings of the game would be higher.
-
You do realize the pro can run games in Native 4k right? I'm not saying multiplayer games might not look slightly better on the X. They will. They just won't look substantially better. The difference will be the same difference between the base PS4 and the Xbox One. It's funny. At the beginning of this gen, Xbox fanboys claimed there was no difference between 720p, 1080p, and 720p upscaled to 1080p. Now suddenly there's the world of difference. I just think you guys are being disingenuous.
-
The difference will be the same difference between the base PS4 and the Xbox One.
This is not true. If you take two games that run at native 4k on both it will still look better on the X. It's not all just about the resolution. The devs can use the X's super powerful GPU for draw distance, render quality, and so on.
I just think you guys are being disingenuous.
You guys? You're quite presumptuous. I was so against Xbox's stance at the beginning of this gen. Any idiot who thinks that there is no difference between 1080p and 720p (or thinks that 4k on a weak GPU will be the same as 4k on a strong GPU will be the same *hint hint*) doesn't know what they are talking about.
-
I'm not saying there won't be a difference. There will. It just won't be as substantial as you think. You can keep believing the hype. The X will be out soon enough.
-
It's not the hype. This is actually how the X runs. Have you not heard of the countless devs who are gushing about it hours after getting the dev kits? About how not only are the hitting their wanted resolution (a mix between native 4k and dynamic) within hours then having much GPU left for further tuning? Respawn said that in a tech test where they kept the same graphical settings as it is on the PS4 and Xbone and just unlocked the res (they run a smooth dynamic) and it was hitting up to 6k resolution during the gameplay. Obviously it won't be doing this in the full X Enhancement update because they will sacrifice their above 4k res for ultra settings equivalent but it could, as they said, still run above native 4k since they, again, run dynamic. That means it will super sample down and look better than native 4k. I got a bit carried away by that but it's a very good example of how these devs are realizing that they have a lot of room to tune with on the X. Enough that once they hit their wanted resolution (equal to the Pro or not, usually higher) they can focus on tuning graphical settings; something the Pro doesn't have the GPU for. Point is, this is not me hyping anything up. This is not a minor difference in graphical settings from the Pro to the X. This is a substantial increase in power and a substantial increase in preformance.
