Ok so firstly i'm really excited for D2 and the upcoming BETA - highlight of my gaming year so far (I hope it will be anyway hehe). But i'd like to talk about the Warlock Voidwalker.....
Right I use Voidwalker a lot for PvP it's my go to subclass, for me that subclass is the easiest to use as i'm not that great at PvP (though i'm working on getting better). I love how quick I can be, blinking about, using scatter granades and the super ability has got me some awesome multi-kills and got me out of trouble so many times. So I was wondering why it had taken a little longer to show off the new version, but at least we got to see it through Ign First.
I have to say i'm considering making either the Hunter or Titan my main in D2 (Hunter is looking pretty sweet right now)! I wasn't really all that impressed with the Voidwalker footage, maybe it was the dude playing it at the time I don't know. It seemed a little slow, scatter granade didn't look all that effective and I was so surprised to see the double down after launching the super seeing as it took what seemed like forever to get to the target, although there did seem to be some Axion bolt type spheres coming away from the main 'blob' once it detonated, it did just seem that they were just waiting around that corner for it?? I'm sure this type of super would be very useful in a tight enclosed area, in the open though I think you might find it easier to avoid. I also think that Blink caused the radar to stay shut down for a little bit longer than it currently does.
I will of course have a better idea of the subclass next week during the BETA, well all the subclasses - I was wondering what anyone else thought on the Voidwalker gameplay?
As a side note - I think Bungie are doing a grand job, imagine the pressure at trying to keep everyone happy even with all the negative posts. Here's to D2!
Edit - Some people are saying we should not jump to conclusions based on a short video of the subclass. This '4/6 min video' is how they chose to showcase the Voidwalker sub-class. This is how they presented it to the world, the way they did it wasn't in my opinion in the best way. Perhaps a better PvPer, perhaps using it in PvE instead of PvP - whatever the case - we can form an opinion based on what we've seen. And as I have already stated we can all test these subclasses out during the BETA to get a better understanding of how they play.
Thank you for the actual discussion going on in this thread, it's been interesting getting others thoughts on the matter.
