This is coming from a guy who is very frugal, and really only spends money in big spurts on big things. That being the case, wouldn't it be more money conservative to cancel AFTER THE BETA, that way you can get an extra couple of days to make your decision based off of gameplay instead of videos, then decide if this is the game for you.
