Can we put this whole Titan "OHK punch" thing to rest?
NOTE: I have been fielding a lot responses regarding the Close and/or Personal perk on shotguns, which does allow Strikers to OHK full health targets. Just to be clear, the point of the thread is that Storm Grip does not intrinsically OHK; it doesn't OHK without external buffs.
Anyways...
Charged Striker melee does 158 damage. Add Discharge (which no one uses, but just for the purpose of illustration....) and you have 171 damage. (+13)
The HP value of anybody running 1 armor is 186.
186 > 158 and 186 > 171.
It's simple math.

My fellow guardian I get it it's anoying the numbers say it shouldn't happen, but that doesn't stop it from happening.

a vast majority of people that thought they've been ohk'ed were damaged by someone they didn't see and finished off by the punch.

1 RespuestaYou can apply all the math you want, but it still doesn't change the fact that one hit kill melees do happen sometimes. It's not even limited to Titans. The game is full of glitches, and that's all there is to it. 1. One hit melees 2. single digit precision damage 3. "immune" popping up on an enemy that is supposed to take damage 4. People having spawn immunity while others lose 90% health before the screen has finished fading in Those are just a few of the things that happen that shouldn't, and nothing you do to try and justify it being impossible will actually change the fact that it happens.

I can easily say that I've one shot other Titans with the punch and I have been one shot by other Titans. (I run max armor on all my Titan classes)

I get OHK by titans and warlocks all the time. Blink strike should be a OHK also

In situations where it is impossible for the enemy to have received damage from someone else and I one shot them with a melee. Must be a strange mechanics glitch. I notice it happens more when your feet are off the ground, either skating or jumping. And again, I have definitely had it done to me in situations where it impossible to get damage prior to the melee

I tend to fire 1 bullet out of my sidearm from the hip and melee, it's normally enough to kill. When people say they've been 1 hit they've obviously taken a tiny bit of damage and haven't realised.
