As a random tip, your Energy Siphon can stun Reapers and give shield. In your early stage, you'll rarely want to engage other Titans head on. Go for AI mooks and pilots during this point. Once you have at least two cores up, you can show your enemies why you've spent the last five minutes using the "hide like a bitch" move.
