Some of you may have known Crimisidian, maybe even a few of you knew him as Carlos Sibayan. I knew both, he was a pretty close friend, shipmate, and guardian that just had a way with making people laugh. Dude ruled in crucible and I was fortunate enough to have him on my team quite often.
For those not in the know Crimsidian was one of the seven sailors lost on the USS Fitzgerald following a collision at sea.
I'm writing to see if maybe Bungie can do something for him in the upcoming Destiny 2. He had orginally intended on introducing his new fiance to the Destiny universe through the upcoming sequel and I know we were all looking forward to its release. I know this is something of a longshot but I'm hoping that the right people see this and somehow make something happen. Thanks everyone for any support you can offer.
RIP Crimsidian

As a former GM, I must say that I'm sorry for the loss of your shipmate and friend. I don't know what led the Fitz to end up in that situation but I'm glad that it didn't end up as bad as it could've gone. Fair winds and following seas Crimsidian.

9 RespuestasLOL. If games memorialized everyone who played there game and died it wouldn't be a game just a -blam!-ing cemetery.

47 RespuestasRIP Crimsidian I'm grateful we had the chance to include him our community. I have nothing but the deepest sympathies for the teammates and loved ones who are mourning this loss.

I think that there could be something like a wall of fallen guardians. If not in game, maybe on the website.

Hey I'd get behind an easteregg like michael mamaril in borderlands 2

28 RespuestasEditado por Haunter: 6/22/2017 6:54:47 PMI'm sorry but what exactly is bungie supposed to do for him? This isn't a memorial service. It's a video game/video game company. I always find these posts odd, if it were a friend I knew I definitely wouldn't want a post about it on a forum with people who never knew he even existed. Some will express fake sympathy but the sad truth is people die everyday and nobody truly cares about people they never heard of.
Inb4 someone calls me names and such for telling it like it is.

I'm writing to see if maybe Bungie can do something for him in the upcoming Destiny 2. - Thanks everyone for any support you can offer. RIP Crimsidian
I don't want to hate, but.... why are you asking that? Your bro just died... why asking Bungie to put something in their game? I swear, not the first time I see this comment here relating a player's death... Anyway, heard of that story here in Canada. I wish you, his other friends and of course his family the best of luck.
Just a question, was he found dead or we presume he is dead?
1 RespuestaEditado por Pistachio Bandit: 6/24/2017 4:47:37 PMWether this is the proper forum for a post like this, I don't really have an opinion on... I really do wish some of the people commenting would take the time to read the quote below. If you find all of the hurt and pain that the loss of those 7 sailors cause their loved ones, and our grateful nation humorous... maybe you should never miss an opportunity to shut up, with your awful thoughts. Marine Story: “A Veteran Is Someone Who, at one point, wrote a blank check made payable to ‘The United States of America’ for an amount of ‘up to and including their life.’ That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it. Edit: I was the Honor Sergeant for military honors when I was stationed with the Marines in NY. A very strong and powerful force takes over your body when passing the American flag onto a fallen Marines next of kin. It is a feeling of the deepest sadness and greatest pride you could ever imagine at the same time. ~Semper Fidelis

13 RespuestasI will try to be as respectful and genuine as I can for your loss . That being said, I never understood bringing your loss or the death of a wonderful individual to a video game forum. Maybe I am a little older and associate the loss of a loved one with a funeral or a gathering of friends that recount stories of the individuals life . I have also seen my share of people passing before their time and still do. We would celebrate their life as a group trying to heal but would never ask others who were unaware of the individuals contributions to our group to take part in their passing . It's hard as a human to do so when you are not directly associated with the life the person has shared with others . We all grieve in different ways and this may be part of your process. Something to consider is that there are others who may be grieving for this individual and do not want his memory paraded around a video game forum. Some individuals hold memories close and prefer to keep them within their tight knit group as opposed to sharing with thousands of strangers who cannot appreciate their loss. Food for thought. It would also be odd for a video game company to incorporate your loss into their game without the possibility of offending others who have also lost someone . It is simply easier to remain neutral. Once again , I am sorry for the loss his family and you have had bestowed upon you.

May he rest in peace. Always a terrible thing when someone passes.

Sorry for the loss, peace be with you all

No harm in asking.

5 RespuestasI have a deep respect for those that serve in any branch of the military! (Mainly cause I tried to join the Marines when I was 18 and they wouldn't let me.) It's never easy to lose someone you're close with, especially when it was from human error... Skye Captain I really hate to hear about Crimsidian! Rip for him and here's to hoping you and his fiancé can find some peace yourselves! As for all of you asshats in this thread with the rude/disrespectful comments! My generation truly disgusts me anymore. All of you should show some respect, it's because of guys/girls like Crimsidian and his friends that you get to sit on your fat, lazy, out of shape slob style asses and play f'n video games in the first place! Without them this country as we know it wouldn't exist!

23 RespuestasWhat about all the other people that probably played this game and have died during it's life span??! I'm sorry for the loss of what seems like a decent human being but get a grip man!

Editado por Sage: 6/24/2017 7:56:51 AMSibayan was a cadet in Chaparral High School’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) program and enlisted after high school graduation, on April 3, 2013. “There was never a time that Carlos wasn’t making people laugh,” fellow NJROTC cadet Chase Cornils told the San Diego Union-Tribune. “He always had a cheerful attitude and a smile on his face. When I think of Carlos, I can only remember an extremely happy guy who was willing to help all of his friends.” Cornils added that joining the Navy “felt like it was his calling” and that Sibayan “was extremely excited to join and start his career in the Navy and serve our country. He wanted to start as soon as he could.” Sibayan enlisted in April 2013 and reported to Fitzgerald on July 31, 2014. The Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist was promoted to Fire Controlman Second Class on Jan. 16, 2016. The Philippine Star reported that Sibayan’s family is originally from Pasay City, outside Manila. The paper quoted the sailor’s mother, Carmen, as saying, “If you never met my son, you missed a whole lot. In every sense of the word he is my hero. … The way Carlos is, when you need help, he’ll help you with his whole being.” RIP to a fellow guardian.

1 RespuestaNew details and analysis of the incident; Caution- is graphic- but the story must be told that 2 sailors died trying to save 5 of the trapped ones.
http://www.cnn.com/2017/06/22/politics/uss-fitzgerald-investigation-update/index.html
4 RespuestasEditado por djpuk54: 6/22/2017 7:44:26 PMSurely it's not too much of a stretch for Bungie to name a shader after the guy. (Crimsidian Tide) a nod to the nautical perhaps.

Sorry to hear that. RIP Crimsidian Destiny 2 will be one less guardian filled and that's a shame. Hopefully the wish comes, but all the same, I hope his fiance and all those mourning the loss can find some comfort in anything they can.

7 RespuestasEditado por STEL: 6/23/2017 10:36:26 PMAs the sun starts dipping behind the Mountains like a solar eclipse, the sky erupts into a soft red, orange, purple hue. The Farm is busy with the bustle of Guardians and Civilians. In the distance a soft boom echo’s the familiar sound of a Guardian ship dropping in from orbit. A Valkyrie-O5X comes into view. This ship does not follow the same flight pattern as the other ships approaching The Farm. People and Guardians alike look up and watch as the Valkyrie increases speed and engages a combat drop maneuver. The scream of the engines and external dampeners engaging is deafening as the Valkyrie slows from sonic, to sub sonic. The Valkyrie banks sharply over one of the courtyards of The Farm and its nose pulls up slightly. Those in the area can see the com-trails spooling from the tips of the wings and the crafts nose. The craft drops within feet of the courtyard ground, there is a loud crackling hiss between the belly of the Valkyrie and the ground as a Warlock Guardian shimmers into view, hovering slightly as his body composes into view. Within a second, the Warlock gracefully drops to the ground as the Valkyrie banks and its engines scream as it accelerates up into the sky leaving a cloud of dust in its wake. Those in The Farm can see that this Guardian is a seasoned Warlock. He holds out his hand as his Ghost materializes into view. The Warlock’s Ghost is encased in a Frontier Shell that shifts and moves. The Warlock nods to his Ghost. It darts around scanning the ground and quickly moves across a bridge crossing over a creek, while the Warlock follows behind. The Ghost scans around an old water fountain, stops in the center of the fountain, and marks a spot. “Here…” it says. The Warlock’s body erupts in flame as he casts Solar Grenades into the spot. Rock and Metal can be seen melting together. The Warlock keeps casting Solar Grenades into the spot and throws one more just as the flames that engulfed his body fade. Breathing heavily as steam rises from the Warlock’s armor, the Warlock waits until the molten rock and metal cools enough and he reaches behind his back as his armor pushes a Gjallarhorn up into his hand. He then takes the Gjallarhorn and pushes it into the cooling rock and metal, he reaches to his back waist as his armor pushes a plaque into his hand; and the Warlock does the same with the plaque as he did with the Gjallarhorn, offsetting it slightly. Slowly the rock and metal cools around the Gjallarhorn and plaque encasing parts of them in a makeshift memorial. The Warlock kneels to one knee with his arm resting on his knee, he slowly bows his head and remains in that position for a long time, as his Ghost hovers over his right shoulder and tilts forward slightly. Slowly the Warlock rises and takes a step back. He opens his hand and his Ghost hovers over it and within a few moments the Ghost and the Warlock shimmer from view. A gust of wind blows the leaves and dust around where the Warlock once stood. As the fading sun moves from behind a Mountain range, a beam of light hits the plaque causing it to illuminate with a warm golden glow. The group of onlookers who gathered in front of the makeshift memorial read the words on the plaque. “In Memory of Crimsidian who has fallen IRL. Know that your family IRL Loves you, your Creator Loves you, I Love you. A part of you will live on within our hearts and memories. Your Family and my Pack will forever remember you and your Light. May your Light continue to be our beacon and guide us from the darkness. You will be missed, but never forgotten. Guardian Down…..”
