Call Of Duty WWII discussion
Now now, I know what you're thinking: "xd COD sucks lmao"
I hear you, but I'm excited for this game and what it could do for the franchise if it's a good entry.
Thoughts on this trailer? Thoughts on the game itself?
I have a small gripe with this trailer and possibly the game. In the trailer, once the paratroopers land, instead of red banners with Swastikas on them, they're simply Iron Crosses. Which is a problem for me, because, despite how this might sound a little SJW, they're vilifying Germans. Maybe because this was simply an international trailer they had to screw with the textures or something so that it would be viewable in places where it's banned. Either way, if this is the way it's going to be in the final game, I'll be a little disappointed with that.
It also seems like the campaign will only be from the perspective of the Americans, and not any other allied force or any axis force for that matter, which is pretty inaccurate as well concerning how much other allies contributed as well.
Another thought, what are your thoughts on female soldiers in this game? I'm all for having females in COD games, but for a WW2 game obviously it's pretty historically inaccurate. Then again, concerning how the banners were historically inaccurate without swastikas maybe it's not so bad. The thing is though, a relatively popular thought on this is how people think because sledgehammer is putting female soldiers in their WW2 game, what's stopping them from taking the extra step and putting weed camos and bling bling trash all over your soldiers and guns?
Anyway, any thoughts or opinions on what we've seen so far?

Hitler wasn't trying to take over the world, he was helping other nations claim independence from the British and French who already controlled basically half the world. 17 RespuestasFirst of all, it looks like the same game we've been playing since 2007 which is extremely disappointing. Second the maps look like the same garbage lane combat we've had since BlOps. From a gameplay perspective they completely killed all the interest I had. Third, what the -blam!- are they doing trying to make World War -blam!-ing II "politically correct"? I'm sorry is the greatest loss of human life in history, the slaughter, suffering, terror, and agony perfectly fine, but it's too shocking and offensive to show a Swastika? Were black people and hispanics really mad that they got left out of being killed in the meat grinder of mechanized brutality in history so we need to make sure that in this game the killing and misery is shared among all races? What are they doing? This reeks of corporate mis-steps and incompetence. It sounds like a board room meeting of executives saying, "Some people on the internet are triggered by history, how do we make sure our game caters to them? They said that minorities hate World War II games because they're too white, how do we cynically exploit those minorities by pandering to them?" Luckily, unlike those game publisher executives fantasy world, minorities aren't stupid and can see that these measures are transparent moneygrubbing exploitation and nothing more and it's going to shoot them in the foot.

8 RespuestasWhen the developers were talking at E3, it literally showed that they know nothing about WW2 and are just being idiotic on top of it. They were too lazy to make multiple reloading animations for guns that need to use clips, like the M1 Garand. And they are adding female frontline soldiers. Which is honestly disrespectful. Those are only a few things that is making me hate this game, along with the gameplay almost put me to sleep.

6 RespuestasAdding diversity just to appease arrogant and selfish "minority's" is a horrible thing. The majority of soldiers killed in WW2 were straight, white, men. Their stories are just as important A's minority's stories, and should not be put aside just to be politically correct.

7 RespuestasI didn't notice the female soldiers, but if they're there, then that is not okay. Women were not allowed to serve in combat until 2013. For me, historical accuracy is high priority in a World War II game, and this is a massive strike. However, I am quite interested in the Zombies mode. They said it is meant to be far creepier than Treyarch's Zombies. I need to see gameplay of it.

I actually did a report on people vilifying Germans. Wish I could have used this as an example. Germans aren't evil. Some of them believed in killing innocent people who believed something different than them. That was some of them. They shouldn't be all lumped together. Some people actually tried to help. TL:DR Lumping all Germans with [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url]'s is incredibly wrong.

I know women fought, but the fact that women are half of the multiplayer spawns seemingly out of nowhere, when men were 95% of the soldiers, is off-putting and seems like a cop out to political correctness in an attempt to 'include everybody'. WaW didn't have women soldiers as far as I'm aware, so why now all the sudden? It irks me. Swastikas, kinda the same. That's just my thoughts. Disclaimer: I really don't care that they are women, it's just the apparent reasoning they're in the game is just a massive PR stunt to please people, which is disappointing.

3 RespuestasI don't play video games to learn history so I could care less about the Iron cross or having female soldiers. Although I'm interested, and a bit worried, if this trend continues in all games. That said, if they have a Eder Dam remake, I'm sold. I'm still a bit skeptical.

But what I am really seeing is a lot of frankly revolting behavior, including from some members here, when seeing some of the discussion about COD and TNO. The amount of complaints I have seen about there being women and minorities in COD multiplayer [i]followed by[/i] the complaints about killing [url=http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Godwin%27s_law]-godwinslaw!-[/url] and KKK members in Wolfenstein is sickening.
