So I was playing iron banner, and some guy messaged me saying "reported" I asked "for what?" and he said "you know what". I asked him to expand further but he didn't reply.
Im a 22 y/o female and I don't know a ton about like specific gaming setup or like destiny "rules", basically all I do is play crucible just for fun after work.
My question is did I do something wrong, or does he think I'm like cheating? I've heard people can cheat by lagging, I don't really know how/why though. It seems my connection is OK, I never red bar, and I'm wired into my router. My download speed is 220mb/sec, 0 packet loss, and my latency is 60. I don't want to offend anybody or get banned. Anybody have any suggestions? Thanks!

1 RespuestaYou really need to look at your connection quality while gaming to see how it really is performing under load. dslreports.com has quite a few, read up on them and you can see which ones would be pertinent to run while gaming and the review the data later. The other issue is that while your numbers are good, the latency is a bit high if that's just from a speed test. Nothing game breaking, but it hints at there probably being a bigger latency issue while playing that can crop up. Lastly, always make sure nothing else is heavily using your service while playing, as someone else streaming a show or movie in another room can create a lot of problems with your connection to others in a p2p hosting environment.

4 RespuestasHi! Head to the player friend's list. On your left you will see yours and others Gamertag's. To the right of that there is a connection bar that displays your overall game connection. There are some colors on it: Green, Yellow, and Red. . Green means you have excellent connection. Yellow means you have ok like connection Red means your connection is awful. Hope this helps. If it didn't, well I just stated the obvious. Lol

1 RespuestaWell he didn't say it was connection. May have been your play style or anything. I wouldn't worry about it. Probably some random idiot just saying that to piss you off.

9 RespuestasDont worry about it, you can have an amazing connection and Destiny still finds a way to destroy it.

11 RespuestasIt could have been someone in your fireteam, your modem or if you isp is doing maintenance.

7 RespuestasThe single report won't get you restricted or banned. After Bungie receives the report, they check your gameplay history and connection statistics between you and their end to see if there is an issue. If you're not having an issue, then it's all good. If they notice that your connection seems to be hiccupping (do note that it may be down your ISP's line and not your local network connection or your connection out a bit along your internet connection), then you'll probably be restricted. So, just make sure your network settings are good and that your internet connection isn't having any issues that you don't know about and you should be good. Do note that fast internet doesn't mean you've got a good connection to the rest of the world. Bad routers between you and the other end of the world can still cause hiccups and latency; there's nothing you or Bungie can do about that.
