As it turns out the first DLC in D2 is about Osiris and as it seems the Stranger is a follower of him. I started thinking about the Stranger again and came up with the following:
"Hold position, kill the engine and don't let them find you..." is what she says when we encounter her on Venus... What if she is talking to our future self? It could explain why she's always in the right place at the right time to "watch" us because we told her we would be there and we are going to play those missions in the DLC!
I came up with the theory after watching the movie Predestination
a future cop is trying to catch a criminal who turns out to be his future self (and another mindblowing twist...)
Our guardian from another timeline in which we don't destroy the heart

The Stranger is Osiris' assistant.
-
And I thought she was talking to some one at Activision!
-
1 RespuestaBungie no longer has the time nor inclination to further explain the Stranger's story.
-
It's other versions of herself and former teammates in the vex timestreams
-
Nah, see when she was talking about the 'engine' she meant the Siege Engine. And when she said 'don't let them find you', that was referring to the glitch where if you stay as far back from Aksis during Phase 1, the Shanks die without firing since you are out of their line of sight. So the Stranger was just spoiling Wrath for us.

So you're saying my guardian exo will switch genders?

I really like this theory and I think it would be pretty cool. Seeing in the trailer Cayde seems trapped. Now let's also go with the possibility of the Stranger being Maya, who knew Cayde. Imagine having a cut scene where our Guardian is searching for Cayde on Nessus and we come upon the Stranger. We exchange in a short dialogue. She explains who she is, how she involuntary and sometimes voluntary jumps between time and different time lines. We tell her who we are, who we're looking for, and that in the past she helps us. Then the Stranger helps us free Cayde. Then we all talk in a cinematic and send the Stranger in the past to guide us. Of course she'll come back later I think it would be cool

10 RespuestasI like this, however: - "My path is my own" - "I believe when we both walk, the ground will quake." (when being keyword) - Hatred specifically for Vex - She phases in & out of timelines
This more-so proves our time, at least our present time is a pivotal moment for countless others and countless timelines. Our time currently, is a major Fulcrum point for her. It's also why she was at the Tower in the end.
Sadly, I believe this is where our paths end, for a while at least. She seems to be a Resistance that needs our help. We helped, they haven't returned. Being heavily influenced in time, there's absolutely no way of knowing if anything did or did not, will, or will not, happen. So the entire point is pointless, because we are writing with a pencil that has no point, but does have an eraser.

3 RespuestasI'm going to put money on Bungie not fully explaining the Stranger in D2. At all. They're going to keep her vague just so they can be all like "oooooh look how mysterious we are".
-
I'll bet it was "The Donald"
-
Nobody cares, Bungie won't continue or complete the strangers storyline it's to strange.
-
Bungie and they aren't listening

5 RespuestasI find it odd that you of all people have time to explain

2 RespuestasI now want to restart my titan, and play through the story again (for the 20th time).

4 RespuestasI don't think so, I never really believed in time travel, the power needed to create a so called portal cannot be sustainable because, if a portal was to open matter would split between two dimensions, ultimately creating explosions in both sides of said portal.

5 RespuestasThe stranger was just a last minute halfassed move by bungo. Doubt she's coming back.

Presented in a Napoleon Dynamite voiceover. There is no such thing as time travel . Gawd!!! Read a book or something .
