I constantly see people on these forums complaining about LFG requirements: "how can I raid when no one will show me how!"
A few days ago I decided to spend the evening helping low light guardians. Let's review shall we:
1) After getting spammed with game invites (no text or party invites) while doing my business in the tower, I join two randoms. They're both 375ish and load up the nightfall, great. I stay and decide to help (carry) them through. 1 guy tries but dies constantly, the other does nothing the entire nightfall. He slowly walks his guy forward so he doesn't get sent back to orbit. We make it to the flyers with plenty of time and this is where they checked out. Neither one of the shot a single flyer, not once. I took out all three, and adds, on my own. We finish, get gold, they open the chest, and then they boot me. I don't need anything but a simple wave emote or thank you is order after you did absolutely nothing and wasted my time.
2) Following that nightfall I decide to go for a fresh VoG run. Despite correctly posting for a fresh run this group invites me to Gorgons maze. Thanks guys! They tell me how they've been there for hours and need an experienced raider to help them finish the book. I've already done this, I have nothing to gain here, and I'm annoyed they ignored my post to selfishly help them. Anyway, I thought heck I'll cheese it and help these guys out. They all say thank you and we can start fresh as soon as we get this done. I run through and wait at the wall. Despite the cheese it takes them well over thirty minutes. They simply did not understand teaming up, timing, or stacking supers. As soon as they get the node everyone leaves. No thank you, no help, just an utter waste of another 30-45m.
3)I decide to try and knock out an Oryx checkpoint to get the warlock helm. I join a bunch of randoms. You know where this is going. 3 ppl demand to run middle and refuse to take a plate, the other 2 demand we don't use the "counter clockwise" strat because it's to confusing. This leaves me as runner on my warlock... fine I'll run, no problem. We try about 4 times and literally never get all three people on their plates, unreal if you ask me. I quit.
2+ hours with nothing accomplished.
This is why we have LFG requirements.

1 RespuestaThe main reason why lfg has become even worse is because ppl like me don't play destiny anymore. Now ur stuck with the y3 players. It won't get any better.

116 RespuestasEditado por Prof Sheitbag: 6/5/2017 9:55:30 PMOk, so I am looking at the stats for all three of your characters:
1) After getting spammed with game invites (no text or party invites) while doing my business in the tower, I join two randoms. They're both 375ish and load up the nightfall, great.
Everyone I see you teamed up with "a few days ago" on Dust Palace was 400 LL.
I stay and decide to help (carry) them through.
Most of the people you played with did significantly better than you kill wise.
1 guy tries but dies constantly, the other does nothing the entire nightfall. He slowly walks his guy forward so he doesn't get sent back to orbit.
Most of these other players had a better K/D than you (9.4 k/d on a strike, bro? For shame...)
2) Following that nightfall I decide to go for a fresh VoG run. Despite correctly posting for a fresh run this group invites me to Gorgons maze. Thanks guys!
Yes...your group, but you let them hijack it...well done. But no, you are right: it is better to do something you do not want to do, and then come here and complain.
3)I decide to try and knock out an Oryx checkpoint to get the warlock helm. I join a bunch of randoms.
So...you chose to join randoms. In a group that probably did not have any "raid requirements" as your wonderful post seems to attempt (poorly) to illustrate the dangers of... Cool.
You know where this is going.
You complaining about the choices you actively made? Yeah, I get the sense that is exactly where we are going.
I quit.
So, a lack of leadership, mixed with no real cohesive cooperation were your downfall. On a raid that the others have obviously done to an extent to get to where they were...i.e. not new players. Cool. This does absolutely nothing for your argument considering these players knew the strats and just decided not to use them and thus were not "new", but still, cool I guess...
2+ hours with nothing accomplished.
Didn't you do a Nightfall?
This is why we have LFG requirements.
So let me get this straight: You claimed to help "low light guardians", although everyone you played with was if not 400 well above 390, posted a VoG fresh run which you allowed to get taken over by others, and joined a Oyrx CP where obviously no real cooperation was taking place, and all 3 of those wonderful incidents are your absolute evidence as to why some asshat in the LFG section can say something to the extent of: Need Swordbearer for Crota Must be 400 LL Must have Gally with 5k confirmed kills Must have 100+ confirmed raid completions Must have All Hard Mode emblems Yeah bro, your day fully proves that LFG needs raid requirements...smh...

5 RespuestasI never had to use LFG and I must say you guys are not selling it! I wonder though, why is it that anyone relies on LFG for regular raiding? I get it if you just want to get it done once to cross it off the bucket list, but if your plan is to grind all four raids till you get all the loot, why not at least try to build a regular raid team? It takes a bit of time and involvement, but that's what I did and it was the most rewarding thing I've done in Destiny.
-
i agree LFG is awful... I once spent 4 HOURS ON CROTA (from bridge to final) because of squeakers that joined my game and either didn't know what they were doing or were just generally horrible
-
Lookin for a group today and all the posts say the cp or fresh and message for invite, not really asking for requirements. So i make a post saying must be 400 light and experienced. We wipe a couple times on totems and like 8 times on warpreist. Checked the stats of 2 ppl in the group who died alot and neither had completed the raid. I left Sometimes i feel like the majority of ppl strap a helmet on when they wake up
-
1 RespuestaYeah that's why as soon as I got a regular group to run with, despite them all being very "special" people, I've barely run with randoms. Though I've done it a few times if I'm really bored and the times I have they tend to try and keep getting me back because I know what I'm doing.

8 RespuestasFor the 1000th time people, we can see your recent games, in fact, we can see everything, what you have played and who you have played with. So please stop these fake stories.
-
That's cos most of the player base are done and all that is LFG is people that don't listen! Last time I lfg for kf, apparently my start for the relics was wrong it's not teams of 2! 1 left 1 mid and 4 right surprisingly we left !

Need 1 for Trials. Must be Sleeper Suliman

1 RespuestaFake, lies, bullshit, did I mention lies?

I usually always state that I don't wanna do a carry, but somehow end up carrying one liar through. I've said it a thousand times, if you don't know what you're doing say something.

Nice made up story lol

Editado por Lucki: 6/7/2017 4:36:24 AMI started a LFG raid request for WOTM normal on PSN, a community I'm in. Here are the requirements, very plain and simple. Must be light level 370+. Must be cooperating. Microphone not required, but highly recommended. Any character is fine. Monitor location is not required, but recommended. I was feeling nice so me and two friends decided to help some randoms through WOTM. Let's just say, this was a disaster. First, they claimed to be experienced with the raid. By that, they mean "We know the first part, nothing else." because it took us a whole two hours to pass Vosik phase two. I never make experience requirements in LFGs (not for normal mode anyways) only because I want to help new players, but two hours? Really? Granted, I messed up sometimes, but I mean... when you run at Vosik, there's only so much I can do. Second, they kept AFKing for something in between tries. Now I AFKed too, and to this day I do, but I give a warning during the previous attempt- "If we mess up, I need to go for a bit. I'll still be here, I just won't be at the controller." But no, these guys would leave MID ATTEMPT and be gone for, I kid you not, THIRTY MINUTES. Need I add, we were on Aksis phase 2? You see my anger? Third and finally, they kept saying, "You didn't do this before, shut up Polar!" (my PSN name is PolarizedGamer1). Um, not true. I HAVE done this raid before. I have the SIVA solution emblem. I have the SIVA engine. I have the emblem you get for clearing the raid on normal EQUIPPED. So yes, I did complete this raid. I'm sorry I'm spending my time, no, not spending, WASTING my time helping you guys through this. Cooperation was one thing I asked for in the LFG post. I ended up getting new people, starting the raid over, and clearing it the next day. In short, I wasted a WHOLE. DAY. taking randoms through WOTM on Normal, but doing the monitors. I did most of the work finding them. I got 4/5 (i did the binary reading and converting) monitors. While LFG requests like mine are fine, some where the request are ridiculously stupid should not be a thing. Cherry picked example, CROTA'S END Hard Mode (pre- AOT) Must be 390+. Must have mic. Must have Gally. Must be 18+. Calm down, gally is NOT needed for Crota's End HM, I know because I SOLOED it (fun fact - Celestial Nighthawk OHKs Crota's shield) at 3... Whatever I am now, I think 389? Must have a mic, what if I know the raid but I don't want to talk to people? What if I had a rough day and don't want to hear people yelling for no reason? This should not be a requirement. Finally, 18+... Look, I don't like little kids, but if you're not 1) deep throating your mic 2) screaming / singing, or 3) eating cheetos or chips, I don't care how old you are. And if anyone wants to check my stats, have fun. I haven't been able to pkay Destiny in over two months due to a PS4 robbery. I will make it in time for Destiny 2. Until then, keep fighting, Guardians.

despite the fact that people seemed to have glanced at your stats and are calling you out for fibbing about your post, i just wanted to point out that of the three games that you are talking about that you played that have convinced you as to why there HAS to be LFG (when there doesn't)... is a very, tiny, insignificant percentage of the playerbase. meaning that if you came on here and were talking about the matches that you tried to join as a random over the course of a week (at least) or a month, then the data you gathered would be given some validity. as it stands, shut up Meg

The worst part of this is that the sorry guy that took all day to write a reply is part of that, "Dads of Destiny" clan. You know, the one that got all kinds of recognition from Bungie for being great guys. Pathetic!!!!!!!!
-
2 RespuestasAnd your post is the reason we have stat tracking. 1) lowest kills in night falls. Good job carrying there. 2) You somehow got 100+ kills in 45 minutes of standing at a wall waiting for your team to do the Gorgon challenge. Not to mention only 6 total people joined that raid. Pretty weird for a team you joined at Gorgons after they've spent hours failing it. 3) Cant disprove your Oryx fail, but since you lied about the first two I'll assume your ass got kicked for being too bad and you angrily decided to make up this story here.
-
3 RespuestasAs previously stated, your story is full of holes and your own doing. But the much more clear, concise and true facts for why LFG posts have requirements are: 1) People are jaded at this point in the game. Myself included. I don't want to spend hours trying to do a raid encounter because someone hasn't done it before and doesn't know what they're doing. 2) There is no excuse for not knowing how to do an encounter. YouTube is your friend. A max 20 minute video will show you EVERYTHING you need to know about how to do an encounter and how to do it well. 3) Hardly anyone plays this damn game anymore, so when you actually manage to find a group for a raid, you're praying that people have half a clue. The worst is when someone claims to fit the criteria and blatantly doesn't. That's where tangible requirements like "All raid emblems" come into play.
-
Here's my advice. Don't accept random invites from the tower. Don't help people who invited you without reading your lfg post. When it comes to kings fall, make sure people know what they're doing before even attempting it. That raid is heavily dependent on team work.
-
Editado por D0CT0RJK: 6/6/2017 9:55:48 AMAny lfg post that specifies bringing a particular weapon is ignored.
-
8 RespuestasI think requirements are fine; it's just when the context is negative, douche baggy, or over the top (must prove with emblem, etc.). One of my pet peeves is when someone takes an LFG spot but then takes forever to actually join. I don't mind helping someone out but don't make me sit and wait while you finish something up. Complete what you are doing then go find an LFG to join. I rarely don't accept a team, unless it is a slow joiner and they get kicked. Willing to give something a couple of runs before reassessing.
-
11 RespuestasCan't wait for someone to come in and justify why LFG requirements are stupid and how bad players will never experience end game because they're trash. I don't think people understand that if you're unable to learn mechanics or fight during a certain event, you don't deserve rewards, and you're damn lucky if someone is nice and patient enough to do it all for you.
-
I feel you , i always thank the people i play with whether we accomplish the objective or not , this just leaves you knowing that at least you left some kind of dignity behind and not some asshole picture .....
-
4 RespuestasI asked show emblems and check his completions. He checks mine and says nothing.

I always find the best way to get groups is to have some requirements, but make sure whoever joins knows that you are the leader 👍👌
