Job 40:15-19New International Version (NIV)
15 “Look at Behemoth,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!
17 Its tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.
18 Its bones are tubes of bronze,
its limbs like rods of iron.
19 It ranks first among the works of God,
yet its Maker can approach it with his sword.
In the book of Job in the Old Testament it talks about two different creatures called the Behemoth and Leviathan. Written in a time before the word dinosaur was coined could these passages be describing what we call dinosaurs? It also talks about a sea creature that mirrors what we call a Megaledone.
I don't care what you believe I just think it's cool that thousands of years ago, the writer described two gigantic creatures. Modern science believes dinosaurs as we know them went extinct millions of years ago, but why would the writer of job needlessly lie about dinosaur like creatures?
Different cultures around the world who had no contact with other cultures all depict ancient drawings and passages about these giant creatures.
Food for thought.

This kinda stuff is why the Edda is much better than the Bible

I guess modern science is a hoax according to the bible. Nope carbon dating dates most dinosaur bones 30 million to 65 million even 100 million years ago...

1 RespuestaIt's hard to believe that, having 46 functioning chromosomes

Considering radioactive dating is a thing, and the first humans appeared around 4 million years ago, no. No they did not. I'm pretty sure they're symbols of a greater meaning, or a literal animal. Either one really.

28 RespuestasIt seems about right. Behemoths would be the land creatures and leviathans would be the sea creatures. I'm still skeptic though. Only way I'll get my answer is from God himself when I get to heaven.

8 RespuestasDinosaurs are fake
-
2 RespuestasNo, they didn't. Uranium dating confirms that dinosaurs went extinct approximately 65 million years ago, while humans only showed up between five and seven million years ago. No amount of exceedingly vague scriptures will change the half-lives of chemical compounds.
-
2 RespuestasI can imagine Behemoths being elephants and Leviathans being Whales. I don't think they are talking about dinosaurs although I wouldn't be surprised if they found Dino bones.
-
2 RespuestasYou've got a point . If you go to the cave Lascaux or chauvet in France you will find paintings of giant horses and giant cows.
-
4 RespuestasAborigines were around when we had mega fauna like giant kangaroos and wombats. However they did not write the bible or have any contact with people until around 400 years ago. The fact is dinosaurs died out millions of years ago, modern humans only popped up hundreds of thousands of years ago
-
Possibility: job was farming and dug up some big bones.

7 RespuestasNo. Moses never parted a sea, Jesus never walked on water, and humans did not live alongside dinosaurs. Especially if you believe the planet is only 6000 years old.

So what you're saying is... People road Velociraptors around! PogChamp!

12 RespuestasKJV is the better bible. Other bibles are watered down versions.

11 RespuestasThis is an interesting topic. I have read a book titled Dinosaurs and the Bible by Brian Thomas. It's a small book with a good amount of facts supporting this theory. There is also a place in Texas called the creation museum and in the limestone riverbed near the museum has human footprints and large reptilian footprints almost as if one was hunting the other. The human footprints are quite larger than you'd expect but this is backed up by accounts in the Bible where humans were bigger in stature in those times.

Oh for -blam!-s sake.

2 RespuestasWhy do peeps still refer to the Bible? Crack a -blam!-ing science book every once in a while, geez...

Editado por Cultmeister: 6/4/2017 3:43:54 PMIt seems silly to me that so many ancient cultures have in them enormous creatures that are just completely made up out of nowhere. What I would say though is that there is a difference between 'a big animal' and a dinosaur. Compared to what humans are used to, a woolly mammoth is a pretty -blam!-ing huge animal. Perhaps there were other big animals around throughout history that we just haven't found out about yet, or we have but we don't consider them that big because we know about dinosaurs. Or, a more likely explanation imo, someone just dug up a dinosaur skeleton one day and assumed they were around at the same time humans were, so wrote stories about them existing together.
-
Dinosaurs as we know them were all killed off 65 million years ago so no.

6 RespuestasEditado por Toonstrack: 6/3/2017 3:18:40 AMWell the leviathan was referring to the crocodile or alligator, that's the general consensus. Also if I remember correctly dinosaurs were mostly wiped out in the flood of Noahs day.

4 RespuestasThe Bible is whack, but dinosaurs are badass

37 RespuestasThere no evidence for this except for a vague passage in a book filled with highly dubious claims. I'm going with no.
