Hi everyone so I tend to get motion sick. Whether Im riding passenger in a car, walking around, even scrolling through a website too much I tend to feel sick to my stomach. This has gone on for 2 years and 7 months. I was managing to play fairly well a while back although Id get a flare up every once in a while however we moved back in Oct 2016 and have been without internet (well bad internet technically) since then. Im concerned that because Iv gone without playing Destiny for so long that the pacing will set me off. Does anyone have any advice on dealing with this for either gameplay or just in general?

1 RespuestaGoogle something called the epley maneuver. There are crystals in your ear responsible for balance and they can sometimes get out of place causing diziness etc. Not sure if you experience diziness but thought I'd mention it. You can do it yourself easy in a couple minutes. A little lesser known but entirely possible cause, especially if you're on a wireless network, Bluetooth headset, wireless controllers etc, is a sensitivity to electromagnetic field exposure..emf radiation exposure..Very real and I don't want to fear monger but you can google it, it can and does cause all kinds of assorted symptoms.

You're not going to find specialized medical answers on this forum. Good luck.

6 RespuestasThere are some pills that you can take, meant for boats though but they may help. Problem is that I think it's supposed to be used to "calm down"sickness as an after help

Stand Still....

2 RespuestasYou can get little round patches that go behind your ear that help a lot with motion sickness. It's an over the counter thing so just talk to your pharmacist. I think people mainly use them when they are going to be on a boat for a long time but I see no reason why they wouldn't help you play Destiny.

3 RespuestasStop worrying about playing Destiny and go to a doctor. Seriously, what you describe is concerning from a heath perspective and if I were you I would ask for some scans and tests to make sure it's nothing serious. If you've done this then I apologise, just trying to look out for a fellow human.

If it happens when you're simply walking around you might want to go speak to a Doctor

2 RespuestasUsed to go fishing quite a bit with my father off the coast of Cape Canaveral. Aside from tablets, pickled ginger helped a bit too.

1 RespuestaI literally had the same exact thing happen to me, I got back into the game and it was still happening so I had no idea what to do. I really wanted to keep playing and I knew I could find someway to remedy the situation bc I did previously so I got to thinking about what I did the last time that worked. It took me literally like a week and a half to finally figure out that it could be one thing and one thing only. I knew what I had to do so I just put my mind to it, it took about two weeks but I was finally able to play again with no issues at all. I was so happy I was finally able to play again with friends I hadn't talked to for about a year and a half.....I never knew a mustache could be so powerful

3 RespuestasTry playing without shoes with your feet fully planted on the ground (flat). That should help

5 RespuestasMy gf had the same thing, we put a light behind her monitor and it helped balance it out for her. Not sure if it'll work for you but it's worth a shot

FOV 100+

8 RespuestasSet your sensitivity low, if you can't turn as fast that might help. Also just pace yourself, start with patrol until you get adjusted then work your way up from there. Might take a while but you'll eventually get back up there

4 RespuestasEditado por RavenousLD3341: 5/25/2017 3:49:14 PMWell... I know that this is a problem for many gamers. There are many things that can be done to counter "Simulation Sickness"/Motion Sickness. Here are a few tricks I've learned from talking with game designers, and people that get sick playing games. 1. Play in a well light room.
Playing in the dark can make it worse.
2. Try sitting further away from your screen 3. If you have an FOV adjustment make the FOV smaller. 4. Turn off weapon and head bob.(if possible) 5. Some games use a DOF blur effect when ADSing on weapons (looking at you battlefield 1) Turn that off. 6. If you know that feeling is coming, look for some fixed point on the horizon IN THE GAME, and focus on that as you move through the world. 7. I don't get montion sickness, but I've heard good things about Sea Bands. I got that a lot in the beginning, and while I still feel sick in cars, the nausea I had playing destiny vanished with time. Staying hydrated helps. But when it was there, it was awful. I really thought I'd vom during raids and whatnot.

I consider myself to have some pretty awful motion sickness but I've never gotten sick from playing games. And especially not just scrolling a page on a computer. If you're that sensitive you may want to get yourself checked out as it seems like that's a bit more serious than simple motion sickness.

4 RespuestasEditado por an engram full of bees: 5/25/2017 12:04:50 PMFriend of mine once had the same exact problem. Here's a few things he tried: 1. Turn down brightness (as low as you can while still being able to see). 2. Turn down aim sensitivity. 3. Sit further away from the screen. 4. Drink Ginger Ale (I have absolutely no clue why; he just said it helped).
