Do you think the devs that quite Bungie might have anything to do with why this game is heading the way it is?

I'm wondering who's going to waste heavy ammo on a shotgun in PvE? Hell! PvP for that matter. This is why PvP and PvE needs to be separated.
The logic Bungie uses in this game is flawed and it's Loud and clear once again, this game will be based off of PvP.
Dude! Bring back the devs that made Halo...

I'm Bound by usage of a shotgun, so I hope they're complete monsters in PVE
I'm Bound by usage of a shotgun, so I hope they're complete monsters in PVE
I know gamers love their shotguns, but it's not making sense like I stated to someone else in PvP. Your heavy is going to have snipers, grenade launchers, Rockets, swords and whatever else that maybe be in the game that's going to be in the heavy slot. You're most likely going to ditch using shotguns with everything else coming at ya from the distance. Then there is PVE, what purpose will a shotgun have with all the other options?
-
Maybe so. Time will tell. I had a few good responses with what seemed like legit info. All the weapon changes up to date. I still rock shotty in pvp & pve, always.
-
Yeah, time will tell.

Been taking a D break. Been on DS3 & GOW4

Want to play this evening ?
Want to play this evening ?
Lol I literally haven't tuched this game in over a year. Just been waiting to see what actually happens with D2 once it is released.

Tru You'd have fun

Those devs are gone , & things have changed
Those devs are gone , & things have changed
Yeah, not for the better IMO. Overall like me and many others, it feels Bungie is still heading in the wrong direction and still has this control thing going on.

I exclusively use shotguns in pve. Always have. Except if its needed in the raid or something.
I exclusively use shotguns in pve. Always have. Except if its needed in the raid or something.
I don't like what I'm seeing so far on weapons setup. Looks like to much control going on here because of PvP.

Shiiiit you think the people crying for nerfs was bad in d1. Just wait until d2 with crucible only being 4v4 lmao. Its gonna be the biggest shit show weve seen yet. Small team crucible ruined destiny 1. I dont have a problem with special getting moved to heavy though.
Shiiiit you think the people crying for nerfs was bad in d1. Just wait until d2 with crucible only being 4v4 lmao. Its gonna be the biggest shit show weve seen yet.
Not only that, trials :)
Small team crucible ruined destiny 1.
IMO it was a combination of things. PvP gamers are going to get bored real quick only having a set team mode. This is not going to be pretty like you said.
I dont have a problem with special getting moved to heavy though.
I'm thinking about getting it, but wondering how this is going to play out in PvE with the Dps on bosses. Not only that, a little concerned on Bungie's idea on what planets are as far as playable ground goes and what "explore" means to them. The Dreadnaught to me was a disappointment...

1) That article is from 2016 2) Most of those games were released pre-2015, e.g. employees left before the release of Destiny 1 3) The only notable losses that didn't go to 343 went to work on Golem (Marty ;_;). The rest are just eh.

So it does a really poor job of making that case that the Destiny devs aren't the Halo devs.

Most of the people that were making halo stayed behind at Microsoft to make halo.

Without dedicated servers pvp will be pointless anyway
Without dedicated servers pvp will be pointless anyway
To some, but it's clear they did it because they couldn't handle D1. Yet they are going to make PvE more miserable by making weapons pointless right off the bat?
-
What I was hoping they would do was add two damage stats separate from each other. One damage type exclusively for PvE, and another damage type exclusively for PvP, so that if they need to adjust the damage for a weapon in PvE or PvP, they can balance accordingly and not have to make changes to balance damage in both activities.
-
Editado por BXR Lonestar: 5/24/2017 6:34:46 PMThey already have two damage stats separated in PVE and PVP. They've been able to do this since HoW when they buffed shotgun damage 200% in PVE and only 50% in PVE. Damage is NOT the issue in this case. Every other stat that impacts weapon performance needs to be independently tuned, not just damage. Shotguns are a GREAT example because shotguns need range in order to be viable in PVE. For a shotgun to be viable, it has to hit hard AND have range so you can stay out of instant OHK zones for high level enemies you would expect to be using the shotgun on. But shotguns with range are OP in PVP. The solution then is to be able to independently tune range for shotguns between the two modes. However, this would mean weapon performance would be too inconsistent between the two modes, which is a result Bungie wishes to avoid. Bottom line: this could easily be resolved by A) letting destiny be destiny (faster primary kill times to be in better balance with special weapons) OR B) by restricting PVP ONLY to two primary weapons while keeping the current D1 system for PVE. Instead, they basically did B with a plot twist - making PVE players suffer severely decreased DPS for the sake of PVP. Primaries will never be able to replace the DPS lost by a special or heavy weapon. And since we can only choose to take ONE power weapon, we must choose between DPS OR crowd control. Supers may be able to give us a measure of crowd control, but it depends on their damage and the ability to spawn orbs to fuel your teammates supers. In all, I just don't think the new weapon system is good for the game.
