I have recently got Halo 5 and I've spent around 30-40 hours into the game and after I played multiplayer; it feels completly different in terms of controls and flow of the game and I have come to ask myself. "Does Halo play more like Cod now?" Since the controls are almost exactly the same as call of duty, the small map size and time to kill being higher makes me think that 343 is bringing halo to be more like cod. I wanted to ask the community this because I would want to know if you guys think the same and if you like it or not.

I havent played an extensive amount because i wasnt a huge fan of this new one, but my impression was it's simply been modernized to a certain degree. Personally I prefer the old school arena shooter style, without the extra abilities and shit. But it doesn't play like CoD IMO.

Halo 5 definitely no, but halo 4 yes
-
Halo is definitely different but I wouldn't say it's modern COD like. Not even close. Just because the movement is faster doesn't mean that the TTK, map layout, etc is any different.
-
Yes, it is very similar to CoD, but it still has some key differences that make it an undeniably "Halo" game. There are longer times to kill, and there are no custom load outs (excluding warzone). Halo 5 evolved the movement and controls to feel faster, which is its key similarity to CoD

I don't care whether you like or dislike 343 anyone who actually thinks halo plays like cod are idiots
-
In the fact that there is sprint, sliding, and ADS, yes. However, this is in most fps games now and fits right in with Halo.
-
343 killed Halo for me
-
Not really. Idk what the hell kind of CoD you've been playing, but it has never played like Halo. Two completely separate games. Halo 5 plays exactly like the classic Halo games just with some well needed and updated gameplay mechanics. Balanced multiplayer, smooth gameplay. It's honestly the most fun I've had in a Halo game since Halo 3.

There are emotes, thermal scopes, and serious recoil? Wow.
-
make it so you can run and regain shields. BAM .

1 RespuestaEditado por HeadHunter: 5/22/2017 8:18:50 AMHalo plays nothing like Call of Duty. Call of Duty is trash. Destiny plays like CoD. Those are both cluster -blam!- multiplayer games that really dont focus on a players skill. Destiny is trash too. Destinys 1.5 reveal last week was hilarious. Complete garbage.
-
Not cod more titan fall I personally like the multiplayer I like the controls not the biggest fan of the boosters though They were just trying something new and overall I like it, it really feels smooth the way they did it
-
Nah. Still halo to me.

3 RespuestasEditado por Pheint3d: 5/21/2017 10:35:16 PMIf you think halo 5 plays like like cod, you're pretty dumb. If you complain the controls are like cods...then you're just an idiot. I still play on bumper jumper, it's still shot for shot hip firing battles, the shields have the significant role as always. If you play halo for swat, and complain about it feeling like a cod game.....get out. Seriously. This is coming from someone who doesn't like cod, and couldnt keep playing destiny because that game felt like cod. Snail trigger mode, and the necessity of always having to ads, alongside all of the hip fire and movement/jump hipfire penalties make a game feel like cod. That all being said...each halo has been different from the previous. You're outa the loop if you get a new halo expecting it to play like the last. So long as the shields and gunplay stay pretty much the same, it's still halo.

15 RespuestasEditado por TheArtist: 5/22/2017 2:29:25 AMBecause 343 understands that most shooter gamers don't want to play shooters as slow as the old Halo games. So they're trying to keep the game relevant by modernizing its play. It doesn't play like CoD, but it does play faster than the older Halo games.

-
No, it does not. How is it even like Call of Duty?

anyone who compares halo to cod is a complete and udder idiot.

I appreciate all of everyones feedback but I do need to point these out in case you have the wrong idea. -I really like the new movement but it does speed the pace of the game and the maps being the same size (even a bit smaller) than the older games does make MP feel alot more fast paced which is where I got the idea. -The game still has the classic halo formula, I never said it didn't. -I am completly aware of being able to switch back to old Halo controls, I probably disconbobulated a few people including myself on why I put it as one of my reasons. To anyone who got the wrong idea of why I thought about this topic; i'm very sorry.

It's different, but it's still in a whole other ballpark than CoD. Fair starts, slow TTK, Radar, and actual power weapon and map control still exist in Halo 5. Anyone that says that CoD and Halo are the same are basing it entirely off of the evolving movement systems that both games have adopted recently, which are actually still pretty different from each other if you really look at it.
-
No, not really. And, if you don't like your controls just switch them to the classic controls. The TTK feels about in line with previous Halos, although it's definitely a little shorter.
-
I play a lot of Cod and a lot of Halo. If anyone thinks H5 plays like Cod you're fooling yourself and need to play more of 5s MP.
-
It doesn't play like CoD, but it does play differently from older halos. As a Halo veteran, I happen to like it:)
