So we know that chain lightning let's you damage someone else, amplitude makes the range longer, and rising storm reduces your super cooldown.
However, does thunderstrike itself have any power of its own anymore? I tested it against another warlock and I'm pretty sure it doesn't add any more range than a normal warlock melee, and it certainly doesn't add damage. So is an unmodified charged melee any better than a normal melee?
The description says "a ranged melee," but it doesn't feel like it has any more than an uncharged warlock hit.
-
Nope. It's just a ranged melee attack that is dictated by the perk you set it up with. If it did do anything else, the forums would have a meltdown. It already got nerfed once.
-
4 RespuestasI mean it's a warlock melee. So even uncharged it's got more range than a blade dancers melee.
-
4 RespuestasWhy does this have any likes at all? I still remember when everybody called to nerf thunderstrike because of its only attribute, range, and now this. Not that I agree with the nerfs, but this just shows how close minded the community is. Whenever there's a noticeable group of people with one idea, everyone else joins in. I can garuantee that this post would be shamed if it was put then. Thanks to that, we have another nothing melee.

1 RespuestaIncreases aim assist dramatically ^_^
-
Nope. And you have the trials nerf brigade to thank for that.
-
It should have been a bolt of lightning that shoots from your hands.
-
It seems to do a bit more damage than regular, can chain damage, and does much more damage with Feedback.
-
30 RespuestasNope. It's the only charged melee in the game that does nothing now.

1 RespuestaI ask the same thing everyday about the blade dancer super and blink

6 RespuestasYou've been...thunder struck 🎸

It shoots lightning with TWO hands.... very useful animation.

Editado por Playah 0: 5/14/2017 2:20:10 PMIt's Melee with arc damage
which makes it worse than regular melee against enemies with void or solar shields
-
4 RespuestasIt does have more range. Plus, there's little or no lunge, meaning a target running away from you, or a target that is headgltiching can still be hit
-
Yes it tickles people.

1 RespuestaEditado por Soul_Eater_42: 5/12/2017 2:56:22 PMNope. Used to just be extended range, with Amplitude increasing it further. But then it got nerfed. Also, unlike Scorch or Energy Drain, it doesn't do any additional damage whatsoever when charged, aside from when Feedback activates. What they should do is have Thunderstrike chain to 2 other enemies by default, and have Chain Lightning increase the number of enemies it chains. They could then redesign Amplitude to transform Thunderstrike into a projectile when equipped. That would be the smart thing for Bungie to do, but we all know Bungie isn't that smart, or creative. They still haven't even changed the melee's description since it no longer has extended range as a default. And their design engine is supposedly god-awful, so the chances of them being able to make such changes is extremely slim.

Looks pretty cool

57 RespuestasHunters got it nerfed What else is new.

All I care about is Solar Wind. That melee charge is useless. The only times I see it knock an enemy away is when I'm crouching under an AFK player to knock them into the air.

4 RespuestasThank the trials players

5 RespuestasThis is why

Not anymore it don't

The charged melee has no additional effect apart from the arc burn.
-
24 RespuestasIt got nerfed, so the range isn't what it used to be. Too many crybaby wimps complained about it, so nerf city.

1 RespuestaIt tickles slightly...

They reduced the range to be more consistent with the other Warlock classes. The reduced range is fine but they needed to improve the Stormcallers grenades at the same time to be more consistent with the other Warlock classes. If they had there probably wouldn't have been as many complaints about the nerf, but they didn't and the Stormcallers grenades are still bad in comparsion with the other Warlock classes. The range made up for the fact that the Stormcaller has the worst grenades out of the Warlock classes. This is just an opinion, take it as you will.
