Stop lying about experience in Raids

Lying about experience wastes everyone's time. I personally have no problem teaching players any of the raid mechanics, but I'm going to start kicking people who lie. What could of taken 5min to explain turns into 30min or more of wiping because somebody lied about knowing mechanics. People who expect to complete every section first try with a random group and leave when you wipe once or twice are cancer too. There are alot of strategies for each raid encounter. Some work well with an experienced team that runs raids together all the time, others work better for groups of random people. Kicking people for admission of their inexperience is bad for the community unless you state otherwise in your lfg post. 'ie' experienced players only or must have all challenge emblems. A good example is someone who picks up the relic when you get teleported at Atheon and then run around saying they can't see. Very easy solution if you would speak up and ask for direction. Unfortunately with D2 this is still a thing

    • Raid night is like taco night... hours of excitement and anticipation followed by hours of wiping Anyway, last night was the first time where I joined an lfg team and the fireteam leader was the one who had no idea how to do the Oryx challenge

      • Only those who are desperate for a raid completion will lie to join... why lie about it the raid team im with still accepted me in year1 with no gally and in need of a major boost which they helped me do. Me and my nephew joined this group and never looked back. Single players want a raid but alot wont join a clan or ask a clan for help so resort to lfg which is ok for some but others dont stand a chance. Most sherpas have long depated so its now harder to find a team willing to carry and learn a player how the engagement works. Never used lfg but get that it can be a shit to find the right team...

        • I agree. Only ever had two shots at a raid, WOTM and Crotas End. Never got to complete them though. I would be upset, however, if someone asked "Are you experienced" and I said "no," and they would just kick me. I only want to join experienced fire teams that are willing to help a guy like me out.

          • I totally agree with you. I have no problem in helping someone new out because we were all there at one point. What I have a problem with though is people not admitting to their mistakes and saying they know how to do a part when they really don't. This has happened to me before and it's really annoying and frustrating because instead of spending 10 minutes on a part, you end up spending an hour

I ask to see raid emblems, if they don't have it. Bootsie. If they're a child bootsie If they're not 400 bootsie These raids have been out far too long for anyone to not have completed them. I don't have time to spend 2 hours on Templar because little Timmy doesn't have a GHorn, is 382 light, and doesn't know what an oracle is. EDIT: damn 63 replies. So much butt hurt. EDIT 2: 125 replies. An insane amount of butt hurt.

I have to go through more background checks for a destiny raid than I did when I bought my gun. Gotta email my resume to the party leader and shit before I get an invite. People asking for two raid references and your last 3 pay stubs and shit. Lmao sometimes I start explaining myself to someone questioning my experience before inviting me and then I just laugh because I realize that I sound like I'm in a damn job interview. Then I just leave, because the shit is never that serious Imo. This is a game and should be fun. The second it stops being that to me, I'm out. I've noticed a strong correlation between the number of requirements for a group and the amount of toxicity in the group. As the former goes up, so does the latter usually. Just my experience, I'm sure it's different for others.

              • To be honest, this community is toxic against new players. I think alot of people, especially younger people, are just afraid to ask questions. It's pretty sad really. I really miss year 1 destiny. I think the community was in a better place and we didn't mind showing new players the mechanics. I was in a group on wrath and they kicked a kid for missing a slam. The kid had been with us the whole raid. He was a good kid. Respectful. Listening. It was maddening. I asked why did you kick him. He messed up once. The whole raid he was on point. Died once I think. The douche that kicked him died multiple times on vosik. I left the group. It's just ridiculous.

                • Haha. Or raid group stating what they do. Sometimes they do it pretty unorthodox compared to others. As with my one random lfg raid group that I had to bite my teeth through. They don't cleans during vog oracle at atheon. They expected people to go blind and run out and stay alive. As you know we never finished as team leader was a douche. Causing more wipes and blaming on others.

                • I've said I have experience, just never said how much. In all seriousness though, the way I look at it is the same way as I do about job experience. How does one get experience if no one will give em a chance? People lie about experience because they know if they tell the truth, they won't get any experience. Just like a resume. I've done a ton of raids. I just can't get into wrath of the machine (don't really like it), thus I've only completed it a hand full of times. I have Aksis challenge done. Vosik however, I do not. Why? Because for some reason when it comes to that boss, my raid teams just leave. I've tried numerous times with various teams, even ones that claim they're raid gods. So I don't have experience completing the vosik challenge. However, I have experience with the challenge itself.

                    • This only fits for some parts of this post My worst raid experience ever I'm running crota's end with three of my friends and a random group of three other guys (they all knew each other). We do the raid perfectly fine until crota As soon as we hit crota I'll say I will sword. The one guy that made it bad xXXxXX (Real name will not be shared) He asks if I'm sure. I say yes So we get going and are killing the adds I say go right he and his three friends go left and xXXxXX instantly start complaining "Why are you going right." Me and my friends say that's the strategy that almost every one does. So I kill sword bearer and don't pick it up strait away and ask if it's safe. xXXxXX Says "Wtf why are you not picking up the sword" I say "Every team I have done crota with has killed the boomers and then kills the wizards. So I wait for the team to kill the wizards before I pick up the sword." I go up to dps Me I say dps xXXxXX "What the -blam!- is dps." Me just shoot him damn it He goes down I go up 1slam 2slams 3slams 4slams I back off and say wait to shoot the over soul until the next down They down him I go back up 1slam 2slams 3slams 4slams Super Keep in mind crota is almost dead at this point xXXxXX WHAT THE -blam!- ITS 3-3-3-2-2-2 By the way he means slams per down just saying Me absolutely confused What the -blam!- are you talking about Oversoul is still up my friends and his one nice friend is shooting him and the guy that doesn't have a mic but is on skype with xXXxXX. We wipe He calls me a mental -blam!-ing retard So I shrug it off Me You run sword then Him fine Dies within the first 2 slams to boomers and then complaining about how I'm not doing my job of not shooting crota. Me What ever kid I have to go soon let's get this done I try to look up his stats to find that he doesn't his account linked.(I did this because right before we started because he said he has only ever done crota in age of triumph). If you look at my crotas end competitions I have 112. Clearly I'm doing something right. So I decided to go back to sword bearer and I try to do his 3-3-3-2-2-2 method(in my mind I'm thinking that I'm going to -blam!- with this guy). So I go up and do 3-3 Back off Do it again 3-2 While we're in ogre room I msg my friends that I'm I'm going to back out to orbit and told my friends to do it as well when he is one shot because this guy has clearly never done it before. So we go to the final dps cycle I slam I slam again I slam again I drop the sword He screams WTF I leave saying good luck And me and my three friends left the party and game as the over soul killed them (I do feel sorry for the one nice guy though he had never completed a raid before but I hit him up after I left and explain everything.) I told him if he ever wanted help with raids to hit me up and not to bring xXXxXX Well the moral of the story don't play with dicks Ps(I looked up his account the next morning and found that it only had 15 gamerscore... my guess is his main account got banned for something similar to this.)

                      • About 30 minutes ago I was with a bad team. 1 guy left after 3 Atheon wipes mainly because he didn't have much VoG experience. At the same time the Fireteam Leader's friend said this: "that's fine, we'll get this raid done quicker now lol" We find a 6, Leader's friend is still chatty. This was the "please shut the hell up" type of chatter We resume Atheon and the friend lasered himself with the Sleeper before we all get teleported. That's Wipe 1 Wipe 2: the friend jumps in the air during teleport, dies instantly *facepalm* At this point he feels a bit bad and tells us "if I cause another wipe, I'm out of here lol". Based on his tone he seemed half serious (pretty sure he was a stoner) Wipe 3: I save the best for last. Teleport's on Mars, he dies by the Supplicant near the Venus portal! The new guy that joined rightfully left. I angrily tell the friend "please leave this raid. NOW" What does he do? Starts rambling about random stuff, fed up I ended up leaving too If you cause 3 wipes, PLEASE for the sake of the team LEAVE!! Buddy was clearly inexperienced and couldn't tell which side Mars was on. Also had the audacity to tell me to "shut up" after I told him which side Mars was on If you still insist on beating the raid PLEASE go on Youtube guides (or a live stream) on how to be a better guardian. Then after that try to resume the raid with a different team When WotM first came out I struggled against the Aksis captains. They'd melt me pretty quick. I caused multiple wipes at Aksis. What did I do? I left. Did it leave a bad taste in my mouth? Hell yeah! It sucked. But after watching a few streams and vids I got better. Don't be the clown that tells the team to "shut up". LISTEN and don't repeat your last mistake
