This is literally one of the dumbest things about the United States. Language classes are completely irrelevant and take away focus from other classes. 99% of the students that take these classes will not speak the language fluently later in life either.

1 RespuestaWe start learning a second language at 10 in Scotland. You can choose to learn a 3rd in high school. Other parts of europe they learn English in nursery. Speaking atleast the basics of a second language should be seen as a positive thing, not treated like a burden

5 RespuestasMy parents both work for foreign run companies. My dad for Japanese and Mexicans and my Mom from French. Can confirm. Learning languages is a valuable quality for the marketplace, especially Spanish in the U.S. Other countries around the world teach English as a secondary language. Why you no like other cultures? Is not being able to hold a conversation with 6 billion other people on the planet hurt your widdle feewings?

11 RespuestasIk denk dat het leren van een andere taal heel nuttig is. Het verruimt uw horizon en maakt u meer werelds en begrijp in het algemeen. Als u de capaciteit en geduld hebt om te leren.
I think learning another language is very useful. It broadens your horizons and makes you more worldly and understanding in general. If you have the capacity and patience to learn.
