No one will use primaries when
A) Primaries are weak and have no elemental
B) Specials are viable

A) primaries aren't weak they just dont 1 shot like most specials. B) elemental burn means nothing in pvp. C) get gud.

They haven't been competitive against special for a long time, Bungie removed special ammo to force people to use them. They don't need to be one shot kill to be competitive but they needed some kind of balance. Instead we got removal of special ammo.

Primaries are weak, hence the "special meta" before Bungi nerfed special ammo.

People jumped on the special meta because most special weapons one shot and it's easy kills. Primary weapons aren't weak they just dont one shot. God forbid you have to shoot someone 2 or 3 times to get a kill.

Uhhhhh no, the special meta happened because primaries couldn't counter specials reliably, making them weak. Look at HoW era, when primaries were strong. You could reliably kill people quickly with primaries to counter shotties and snipers.

Primaries weren't strong during HOW only a select few. Scouts are the same. Autos were trash. Pulses were good. Red death a little too good (2 tap with health regen). Hand cannons other than the God Tier 3 were close to what they are now minus a little range. So I feel like you are saying that you need broken weapons to feel competitive, because they weapons that were noticeably stronger now than before were 3 glitching handcannons. Sniping Hawkmoon. First shot last round or Two Tap and walk away Thorn. Or down the sights or Hip my bonus damage does what it wants TWL. Only other 2 weapons viable by most were Messenger and Red Death. A few other could be used only for personal preference but they put you at a disadvantage if some on the same level as you used one of the 5 weapons.
