tl;dr: asylum = city > knight > origins asylum was the first and had the best atmosphere and flow due to the condensed environment. freeflow combat was revolutionary at the time, and predator encounters really made the player feel like batman. also gets props for having my personal favorite combo move (special combo throw) city improved on the gameplay and sidequests while also opening up the world, at the cost of some atmosphere. boss fights were much improved as well. my biggest problem was probably the ridiculous amount of riddler trophies. overall just as good as asylum knight's story was probably the best, but was let down by the overuse of the batmobile tank and the lack of boss fights. the combat was the best in the series with several more options than the others. loses points due to the horrid pc port and the lack of challenge maps at launch origins was ok and could have been unique, but they felt the need to[spoiler]make it about joker instead of black mask[/spoiler] which made it seem too similar to the other. combat was pretty much unchanged as well, and constant loading screens on consoles didn't help either. it did have what is arguable the best boss in the series, so props for that at least

The only reason it isn't Arkham Knight is because of that stupid Battank.
