Is anyone else kind of annoyed by the fact that there are two dlcs already planned to drop shortly after the games release. Why not just include that content in the base game?

Because it's DLC and every game have DLC
I don't get it why in every anther game DLCs and road map before the game releases is a good thing and everyone hype about it but in destiny is money grabbing
-
It's the same reason youtubers will break apart a 50 minute video into 5 separate videos. Not only to prevent people from getting bored, but also to make more money. 5 videos means 5 times the profit. 3 dlc's means more money gained for each of them.
-
This content might not even be in development yet, you they plan stuff for future? They might even have D3 in the script stage
-
In all honesty they should have all the dlcs included in the D.D.E. since its gonna be around 100 dollars for everything thats better than just the normal game for 59.99. Even with just the expansions it should be 79.99 but with the D.D.E. its around 100 for extra missions, emotes, ships, and etc. For all we know(and with Destiny 1) its obvious that we will need all the expansions but not right away. Some people like having everything right away and thats fine, others decide just getting the game and buying expansions when they release is ok too. Its based on how you play this or want to take a break. I for one will wait till I see gameplay content on May 18, then I will decide if I pre-order for the D.D.E. because for Destiny 1 I never did that, but that can change if bungie gives a good game from their gameplay.

Maybe it won't be ready in time?
-
Then don't make people pay extra for content that should have been there already and release it as free DLC. Or they could do their jobs properly and have it ready in time.
-
Imagine you're making a game, and you have a friend who says you have to have it done by a certain date. You tell your friend that you will have it done, packaged, and shipped on time. You return to your desk and notice your list of 20 maps, and realize that there's not enough time to complete them all. So you figure out what you can do in the time you have and then plan out what you'll do after the game ships. I mean no disrespect at all, but this is how it works, albeit at a much larger scale.
-
Imagine this - you're good at your job and know how long it takes you to get stuff done. You get given a deadline and you actually make it because that's what you're paid to do.

I'm fairly certain you have no idea how businesses work. This isn't a non profit organization. This is a for profit company. Stop expecting everything to be served to you in a silver spoon.
-
I'm fairly certain you've made an assumption based around your own poor consumer standards.
-
I feel people have a skewed idea of DLC
-
That's because there's too many instances where the burning question is "why am I paying for this, it should have been there from the start".
-
Agree and disagree. Cuz even when free dlc is provided, people are still upset over it. I just go with it. Whether or not it should have been in to begin with doesn't matter a whole lot to me.
-
I dunno, the free DLC in titanfall, warframe etc is usually pretty decent. Then again you don't pay for any of the DLC in those games.
-
And I can promise people complain about those. people will complain about anything and everything
-
That doesn't mean that all complaints are frivolous.
-
The vocal minority tend to be though. No matter what game it is, the vocal majority always complains, whether it's about the most mundane things in the game or the most game breaking. My point is I've learned to enjoy my experience with the games, regardless of the games. I don't care about the dlc issue cuz it's content either way. Sure, we shouldn't have paid for it, but they could have kept it out either way.
-
It's common practice in MMO development houses to have multiple teams working concurrently on different content for the same title. DLC can take 6 months or more to develop so trying to crank out the main game and then each DLC one at a time as they come along ultimately leads to long droughts of content (which leads to player fatigue and the slow loss of player base, etc). This is certain death for MMOs. I get how it can appear to be "cut content" to the average player who doesn't understand this model, but it is almost never actually the case. DLC is developed, from start to finish, to be DLC by a team separate from the one developing the primary title.
-
Now that all depends on how much content is released with the original game. If they release the game with the same amount of content as Vanilla Destiny pre Dark Below then we know it was another half ass job yet again. We as consumers need to be a little smarter. Doesn't mean we don't buy it and enjoy it, if it's a good game, but that also doesn't mean we have to swallow the same old bullshit either.
-
I understand that, it was my understanding that these dlcs would be release immediately after the game itself, which would be an obvious cash grab. The more comments I get here the more apparent it becomes that I must have misunderstood this information, thankfully.
-
How about you prove it is cut content .. oh wait you can't.

Editado por jonathanpride: 3/30/2017 10:37:05 PMHere you go https://www.google.com/amp/kotaku.com/bungie-sorta-explains-why-some-of-destinys-dlc-is-on-1652925300/amp the very idea of DLC being ready in time to ship alongside the main game would imply that the game's developers cut out that content to be sold separately.
-
The source relates to the issues with Destiny's development, not Destiny 2's, and you seem to misinterpret it. I don't know what DLC is ready to ship that you're talking about.
-
The fact that you could glitch into future DLC area's in Destiny 1. Meaning future DLC area's were already in game we just couldn't access them until later. If you have files locked into a game that is not accessible by the player that is considered cut content. That's what The dark Below and House Of Wolves was. The Taken King was the only new content. Destiny 2 seems to be fallowing the same DLC strategy as Destiny 1 they have already announced 2 DLCs coming out after Destiny 2 is released. Wich means that those DLCs are probably locked in the games files already and will only be made available when the DLCs drop at a later time.
