People complained about this console for being all about first parties and under powered. Which is kind of dumb. Because what did people expect. Everyone acts as though Nintendo hasn't been this since N64. Seriously everyone here praises N64 and GameCube because they loved it as they were young and act like it wasn't the same as Wii U. Those consoles like the Wii U were mostly first party machines with nothing else to offer and you're lying if you say otherwise. It's just how it is. And the Wii U like those consoles is a worthy purchase because of all the awesome exclusives. And I'm going to give you all the great reasons to own this console.
Breath of the Wild - This is self explanatory. Most people find it outstanding and a system seller
Wind Waker and Twilight Princess HD - The value of these remasters depends on if or if not you played the originals and how much you liked them. Regardless they're there.
Super Mario 3D World - Amazing level design and one of the best 3D Mario's, maybe best to date especially with its 4 player co op and bonus worlds
Rayman Legends - Counting because the Wii U had the definitive version of this game
New Super Mario Bros U - Strong 2D Mario with an outstanding dlc with Luigi U that was insanely difficult and throwback to old school Mario
Mario Kart 8 - The definitive and most refined Mario Kart. Battle Mode sucked. Everything else about it was fantastic.
Smash Wii U - Best Smash Bros. Filled to the brim with so much content and customization it was insane. Only reason to not like it best is if you're a Melee competitive fan who cares about nothing outside competitive.
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker - Yes I'm serious. It's not Portal good as a puzzle game. But it's one of the best I've played.
Bayonetta 2 - One of the best games ever in its genre. Comes with the first game for free.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - The latest full console version of this epic series of taking on constant giant monsters and always working towards the next. It's a great experience that offers over 100 hours of content.
Xenoblade Chronicles X - HUGE game. The Mechs are awesome. One of the hugest worlds in any good. Stories lacking and long tutorials suck. But once things get going it's excellent.
Pikmin 3 - Not much to say. The best Pikmin game. Very fun. Good multiplayer.
Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze - Anyone who cares about strong 2D platformers that really challenge you from the get go understand why this is fantastic.
Yoshi's Wooly World - Much better Yoshi game than the lame 3DS attempt. Not fantastic. But still a good game.
Pokken Tournament - First time you get to really play as the Pokemon you all love in a terrific fighting game that looks and plays great
Mario Maker - Get 4 different Mario game styles with pretty much limitless possibilities and levels.
Hyrule Warriors - very fun power fantasy type game set in the Zelda universe. Let's you finally play as all your favorite Zelda characters and co op.
Nintendo Land - Don't dismiss it for being minigame collection. This blows away Wii Sports. So many fun asymmetrical competitive modes. Some fun single player mini games. And awesome 5 player co op modes.
Don't forget Shovel Knight and all the eShop games from the SNES and all. I mean he'll Earthbound is on there. This was a great console. I'll never come close to regretting my purchase. And I recommend now more than ever since the Switch is out to get it. As it will go down in price.

1 RespuestaAre there any non kids games?

Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze single-handedly validates owning one. BOTW and Tropical Freeze are honestly the pinnacle of games for the 2010's so far.
-
I love it for the virtual console and as a party console to play with friends. The wars waged over kart, smash, party, 3D world. I grew up couch gaming with friends and it's a pastime that I won't ever let die.

Needs more rated M games

2 RespuestasI'm just not a fan of Nintendo. The art style of Mario games legitimately makes me sick to my stomach.
-
3 RespuestasI would literally rather spend money on anything else. Literally anything. I would order 2 tons of dog shit to my house before I would buy a WiiU

2 RespuestasEditado por Wolfy: 3/20/2017 9:05:44 PMSee, Ive had mine since launch and frankly didnt play it that much, despite its more than stellar library. The problem is wrestling with the console itself, where Im tied to a wall charger and have to juggle the gamepad and pro controller and etc if I want to play how I like to. The system is slow af, its menus and store and miiverse are a nightmare, and really its only saving grace ARE the good games. I would recommend waiting honestly. Prices will continue to drop despite being out of print mainly due to its poor adoption rate. And this is coming from a pretty big Nintendo buff, but I think the Wii U might be the worst main-line Nintendo console. I just dont want to boot it up despite its killer line up of games

1 RespuestaEditado por hellbound2020: 3/21/2017 12:45:42 AMWouldn't mind getting one but not paying over £250 for a console thats stopped making games. I thought the prices on them might of gone down with the switch coming out. May as well get a switch not much more expensive.

People on these forms don't care about good games, so they won't bother with a WiiU even though odds are most of them have never played one.
-
I thought this was gonna be a joke. Won't read it anyway.

3 RespuestasWhy you should get a Wii U: 1: You shouldn't.
-
Anyone that wants a new one should definitely think about getting one soon, Nintendo's already ended all production of new Wii Us. Interesting little console for the short 4.5 years that it was here, I personally liked it a hell of a lot more than the Wii.
-
N64 and gamecube were ok but they were not on the same level as NES or SNES.
-
6 RespuestasYour slightly off on your original point considering that: 1) The Nintendo 64 was on par with it's competition performance wise. 2) During the time of the 64 Nintendo still had 3rd party support. Starting with the GameCube forward is when Nintendo's hardware was well behind it's competition and when they had very little 3rd party support.

Editado por DeusFever: 3/20/2017 4:26:29 PMIt's like buying a DreamCast after Sony released the PS2.

Can i pull out my old wii that i havent touched in years..
like id probably do the U and switch
..and play these games on it?
-
90% of the ones worth playing will be ported to the switch. They'll be brand new games to the majority of players.
-
1 RespuestaYou forgot The Wonderfull 101. But yes I agree 100%, it is a good console and the reasons for it failing had more to do with Nintendo's strategy than the console itself.
-
1 RespuestaI was thinking of getting breath of the wild for mine. Because right now all it does is play old Wii games because my old Wii died.
-
Yoshi's Wooly World is adorable. Yarn Yoshi might be the cutest character Nintendo has ever made.
-
Have most of those games and loved them. Still addicted to Mario Maker and games like 3D world, smash, wooly world, kart 8, Pokken Tournament were awesome when I had a roommate.
-
Makes me want to plug mine in again. It is a shame that they're basically trying to erase it from history, with Splatoon 2, MK8 Deluxe, Smash, and Mario Maker on 3DS. Need to finish 3D world, though.
-
Not interested in any of those games. Not worth the money for me.
-
1 RespuestaI heard the switch is getting Xenoblade chronicles X, if that's true then I've got no reason to purchase the Wii U.
-
3 RespuestasN64 and GameCube had some good 3rd-party games though; notably Star Wars Rogue Squadron trilogy and Resident Evil 4
