Editado por Wicked: 3/8/2017 4:57:39 AMThere's a lot of people use Zhalo without arc burn PvE and PvP
-
We must play different games then lol
-
I think that's probably the case. You seem like a bit more of a PvP player.
-
1) I am 2) you said it's used in both PVE and PVP So again, we must play different games
-
People do use it in both types of gameplay but it's much more commonly used in PvE. For obvious reasons. Were you around for the elemental primary era? Or did you start after?
-
I've been here since beta ... I have beta emblems

So then you remember the primary burns etc. It wasn't easy then. It only got easy after we figured everything out, after we learned Bungie's formula for the game. That's what actually made it easy. Sure, the burns made the game physically easier to play but they made it fun because we had good weapons. Players felt stronger. They pulled the primary burns and even made our weapons weaker against PvE bad guys because we're so damn good at killing stuff.

Editado por GalaxySpider: 3/8/2017 10:49:33 AMAnd yet you have to keep in mind that designers worked behind this game and obviously saw that primary elemental guns always led to people not using anything else than their primary. For a designer this is a nightmare (what's the point of specials then). And that's the reason why Year 2 removed them. Also, primaries with elemental damage destroy the balance of PvE (yes, something like that does exist). Why giving enemies shields, when your primary, which always has more ammo than the other slots, simply nullifies that aspect of the game (shield mechanic). Enemies have elemental damage yes, but they are also: - predictable - can't swap guns PvE needs to be balanced for every game. I'm not talking from a competitive point of course. But balance is a must, otherwise we could face challenges which are impossible to do (or the exact opposite which isn't fun either). Also, you were basically "forced" to use elemental primaries because why using anything else? Why using something else which makes you less effective in battle? A VoC was simply better than any other Scout Rifle in the game. So why even have any other Scout Rifles in the game. Players felt like they HAVE to use it, even if they don't admit it. It's another designers nightmare. The elemental damage in D1s current design and gameplay is simply a fact of what players would call "overpowered". And that some people set them as requirements for Raids was just another problem they introduced. That's why players never used something else, not even when HoW was out. Everyones loadout was reduced to one or two options. Boring. When everything is the same, it causes frustration, less fun and makes games stale and boring. The PvP and it's ongoing "meta" changes is prime example of that. Year 2 introduced a feeling of "wow, I can finally use something else without being less effective", and god was that a relief. Year 2 introduced new perks and new great guns and yet, till this date I haven't seen 10 guardians in the tower using the exact same loadout. And this is quite exciting to see, that players develop own ways of playing and not letting a gun dictate how to play the game. So yeah, I have no problems with a non elemental FB. But they should give the reworked Raid guns some unique new perks. The Imago Loop, just like the Black Spindle and a few others already were replacements of fan favourites. The Imago even has the option to roll entirely different. So you have the great look of the gun + someing which might fit your playstyle.

You wrote that whole explanation of why elemental primaries are bad and why they shouldn't return and you missed the entire point of why the veteran playerbase wants them back: This is the end of D1, let us be badasses and have fun slayin bodies with the old weapons we love. That's is. It's got nothing to do with balance or weapon swapping or any of that crap. And also, I'm not sure if you were around for the primary burns, but players used every gun they had not just their primaries.

Editado por GalaxySpider: 3/8/2017 5:16:37 PMYeah, they used black hammer and Gjallarhorn besides their elemental primary, lol. I'm a beta player and have seen most players with the same stuff as soon as they could get their hands on it. Also, D1 will continue after D2. You sound like as if Bungie shuts it down as soon as D2 launches... I never missed your or anyones point. I simply disagree and explained my pov. And no they shouldn't just bring it back the way it was. How boring would that be. Better: They should give all old Raid guns new unique really cool perks which fits the current design. Elemental damage isn't special. My sniper and heavy already has it. Not to mention rework all the guns stats. Most are build around vanilla destiny and are outdated.

Whatever you say man lol
