They promised your character would be along for the whole ride. Not the gear.

"Not the gear" With all due respect, show me just one press release from Bungie when Destiny came out where they said "gear" was "not" going to be carried over the next 10 years. Now, I can show you evidence to the contrary..., it's listed at the top of this post.
