Intersting choice of words. ( the next Halo fps will have split screen ). Could this mean another game is a possibility, the Halo MMO that was canned ? A Halo RPG ?
Either way, great news for the split screen fans.

They were more just emphasizing that all the next real Halo games will have splitscreen. Not Halo Wars or whatever.

I know that. That's what I found interesting, they specifically stated the next fps, not the next Halo game.

I know, you just said what I'm thinking. They're just making sure it does not come back to bite them. Why ? Is the next Halo title not an fps ? That's my question, and if I'm honest, it's something I hope to see. MS have had plans for other genres of Halo. There was the MMO I know of, that could work these days, time will tell.

No, I'm not reading into anything, my choice of words is just suggestive, I'm trying to create a conversation about Halo and the game possibilities going forward. I still find the wording very odd.

It is a matter of opinions, opinions vary. It's my view that the wording was interesting, that cannot be wrong, it' my opinion on the wording, your opinion differs from that, there is no right or wrong.

I don't think it will go away either. They should keep the numbered fps titles, I'm just wondering if an rpg or something else is a possibility.

Um... Considering how HW2 ends, I think they're just pointing out that H6 is their next big title.

I don't play rts games, so I have no idea how Halo Wars 2 ends. The wording next fps has me wondering though. There was a Halo MMO in the works at one time. I"m curious about an rpg too.

I also don't play RTSs, but I watched all the cutscenes because I'm a pretty big Halo fan. Regardless, I don't think 343 will be steering into anything beyond action games for the foreseeable future. I certainly don't see - without seriously bending canon - how they could fit RPG elements into a Halo game, unless they focused on the Forerunners.

They could easily have an action rpg, they don't have to bend canon either, there is enough in the Halo universe to have a stand alone rpg, we have rts, twin stic shooters and fps, why not an rpg ?

Action games are fine. There's plenty of action in Halo. I'm just not convinced there's much room for a game with the sort of ability and stat selection RPGs offer.

That's fair it's your opinion, but Xbox needs exclusives, there's plenty of room for a Halo rpg imo.
