They are literally time machines. They can change timelines and we wouldn't even know it. For all we know they could even change a timeline where Oryx is killed in his female stage.

Which is why the Vex have been running trillions of simulations every second for millions of years and haven't found a single scenario that they come out on top? Why they have deemed that their fate is to be forever enslaved to the Will of Oryx no matter what they do?

And yet Oryx is Assumed dead and the taken are decaying. What is stoping the vex from leaving one timeline to enter ours where the Guardians have killed The Taken King and only the Cabal Empire remains as the biggest threat in this System? It is said that the Vault of Glass causes time to bend to their will so if that is true why don't any of the remaining vex give the "all clear" for reinforcements to enter this timeline and restore Aetheon and the other Destroyed Constructs of the Vex Infrastructure? They also converted ALL of Mercury into a machine is it not possible that they are waiting there to return to the Vault or invade Earth amidst a Cabal Invasion?

But Oryx is only the tip of the spear. They were incapable of beating Oryx, and there's plenty of thins you more powerful than him waiting to step up to the plate. The Mantle of Taken King remains, and that alone is more than powerful enough to wipe out the Vex, despite being but a fraction of what the Darkness itself can muster.

Reasonable but I'll say again if the Vex manage to find a way to pull their forces from alternate realities then they should Theoretically be able to simply outnumber there enemies similar to how 10 thrall can still cause problems for a Guardian.

Number are not and never will be a sufficient strength against the Darkness. There's no way the Darkness can't Take, or something close to it, and Taking negates strength of numbers. Your numbers becomes their strength.

Tell me that facing 40 Aetheons will be an easy feat. I get the logic of power beating numbers but if they do manage to pull from the ranks of alternative realities why not just send only Aetheon into battle or the higher powers of the vex worlds that exist outside of this System.

I believe Saint-14 once put up a good post about the identity of Atheon. Atheon is a unique vex construct in the fact that there is only one of him across all timelines because he is Time's Conflux. While this can be useful it is also his weakness. Kill him and he is dead forever. There are no other timelines where he exist. While this is not proven by bungie it is by far the best theory I've seen on atheon. It also makes the most sense considering his title and the grimiore cards involving him saying that he is the center of the vex gate system.

Oryx is now dead. So they aren't enslaved now

But others could take the mantle. Oryx took the ability to take from the darkness. Others could as well.

No oryx took from the worm. The worm is not the darkness. The worm served the darkness just as oryx did.

But the worm came from the darkness. So the darkness has that ability too. So someone could take that ability from the darkness.

The worm was influenced by the darkness. From what we know the taken power is a direct gift from communication with the darkness but is not necessarily what the darkness is revolved around.

The point is the power came from the darkness. It isn't a native hive power or Oryx probably would have had it immediately. So someone else could take it from the darkness. The power to take isn't a one time thing. If the darkness created it then it can create it again.

There are plenary of hive outside the system. And lesser hive can ascend to take the old one's places.
