Weak primary weapons. Bungie you want to balance the crucible? Make primary weapons consistent and fast-killing again. The game was made for them to kill fast, and the reason all these abilities and special weapons seem OP now is because you have nerfed all the strong primaries that were supposed to compete with them.
As long as primaries are weak everything else will always seem too powerful. The most obvious example of this today is NLB, at one point a joke of a weapon but now considered one of the strongest weapons in pvp. Is it unbalanced in pvp's current situation? Maybe... but it doesnt need a nerf- primaries need a buff. Even if you nerf NLB, as long as primaries are weak, there will always be something else that seems OP.
Destiny was not designed for primaries to take a full second to take someone down.
Look back at Year One and see how good the balance between primary and special weapons was- even with shot package shotguns and high aim assist snipers with no flinch. I'm not saying year 1 was perfect- but at least the game played like it was supposed to.

1 RespuestaI only played this game to snipe. Unfortunately sniping has been rubbish for a while, so I'm reduced to making snide replies to forum posts.

2 RespuestasEditado por Brindle_Badger: 2/25/2017 10:45:52 PMNumber one problem since day one is the community Don't like the current meta or changes ? Don't like the long ttk of destiny ? Go play cod or titan flop Overall it all boils down to this Adapt or go play another game That's it Adapt Or gtfo

4 RespuestasBlame the highly skilled community and you tubers. Look at every weapon rebalance and you see a pattern. Why was Suros merged? A lot of people were getting it and you tubers posted videos talking about what a beast it was and how if you get it you'll be able to melt. Thorn meta. Was using thorn 4 months then outta nowhere it was being used by everyone and you tubers were posting how it was the best weapon in the game. Messenger, hopscotch, doctrine, every meta was brought on by the YouTube community and all the so called skilled players. Just got a patch and side arms are now becoming a problem cause everyone flocked right to the next big thing. Is it bungie a fault for poor balancing? Sure. Doesn't help that people watch YouTube like idiots waiting on their precious skill to be suggested to them by he YouTube community. What happened to testing guns? Trying out new things that you get and look cool? It's gone.

2 RespuestasDon't even try. I have tried to explain this to people for over a year. Bungie has a belief about how we should play. They want halo style gun play despite Destiny being way beyond Halo. You hit the nail on the head... People have gotten to the point of wanting NLB nerfed...how is that not insanity.... Insanity...doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. Even when you do the same thing to something different you are still doing the same thing.

2 RespuestasPrimaries weren't particularly strong at launch, abilities were. The point is to use a mix of primary, special, heavy, and abilities. However due to ability cooldowns which make PVE balanced and challenging it makes abilities in crucible far too situational. Thus they introduced Mayhem, mayhem is the most fun you'll have in crucible.

24 RespuestasEditado por KitsuneSonow: 2/23/2017 2:01:19 AMHow -blam!-ing fast do you want guns to kill in this game honestly? You can already kill people in less than a second with most primaries as it is. Primaries also are not specials, specials were meant to be more powerful than primaries and used less to begin with. Seriously, do you guys really think that buffing everything would just magically solve all the issues? That's not how balance works. Edit: Not saying nerfing everything works either, but say we should just buff everything shows that some of have about as much understanding of balance as Bungie's sandbox team.

3 RespuestasEditado por Benzene21: 2/24/2017 4:49:36 AMYou act as if there weren't issues back then. You are funny. There is a reason those weapons got nerfed. What you are saying would shift the meta, but balancing issues would STILL be there. A a game like Destiny can never be balanced.

11 RespuestasEditado por cq13: 2/24/2017 4:24:30 AMSo you think going back to thorn 2 tapping, TLW ads glitching, hawkmoon sniping, vex melting, and suros shitting on everything not listed above would be better? I'm not so sure about that. People forget the dark days of HoW.

10 RespuestasI dont think year 1 was better it was just how we accepted how the game was because there was nothing before it or to reference it to. I think its just nostalgia people like. The game was more fun when it was really fresh. Now we've grown up and miss our childhood.

1 RespuestaAfter taking a poll, a few days later the numbers say that 79% of players would actually prefer to revert all the way to Y1 vs y2 and y3 with exception of bug fixes and exploits.

I agree, in year one special spawned every 30 seconds and I could get 12 praedyths or 10 felwinters ammo. But it wasn't broken because every primary (with the exception of auto rifles) could kill in a time that could compete with matadors and felwinters. Now that they've nerfed every primary that was once strong 2 or 3 times, obviously specials will be strong and they will continue to be until bungie buffs primaries. Apparently those hours of checking reddit that the devs do, they still don't get it do they?
-
3 RespuestasMy Lord high Fixer has never been weak, Praedyth's Timepiece has never been weak. If you never relied on Special 1 hit kill weapons to do well, primaries would never have felt weak!
-
2 RespuestasI would say it's lack of Regional Dedicated Host Servers and using to 2008ish Halo console peer 2 peer hosting is a major contributing factor. When people can use a lag switch to become ToO champions and get away with it, it doesn't matter what weapons your using.
-
I'd like to agree.

7 RespuestasAlso the community has to take 50% of the blame imo as as soon as we get killed by a certain weapon a few times we cry it overpowered instead of thinking of a way to counterattack the opponent.
-
7 RespuestasThere's no balance issues. Some weapons are made superior, those who get them have an advantage. The masses grind 4 them, when they get them the playing field is even but then there's too many. Once there's too many, bungo changes the meta.

2 RespuestasThe first Destiny (pun intended) was destined to fail. Bungie studios went through a lot of change from conception until today, a lot of it obviously working with what they had. And I still play a lot like a bunch of people so on that level they succeeded. Where they failed was by nerfing everything instead of creating counter play. Thorn is bad? Buff it. Thorn gets too gud, kill it's range. Brings back initial accuracy (brings back hand cannons entirely) and thorn "works" but isn't OP. Artifacts that negate DOT were the only "thought of counters" instead of breaking something else. They created a box and only chose to play within those bounds instead of thinking outside and creating options for people.
-
8 RespuestasSo back to Thorn, TLW and Hawkmoon with an occasional Felwinters Sniper thrown in? Gosh I miss the summer of 2015!
-
5 RespuestasBlah blah blah, just play the game for what it is, a bit of a laugh.
-
4 RespuestasI am at that point were I would rather PVP be fun than be 100% balanced. After every update this games seems more and more watered down. At this point it feels like a 2 and a half year BETA.
-
2 RespuestasThey're purposely avoiding touching Primary weapons for the most part.
-
1 RespuestaAlso, no, they stem from Bungie not playing their own game and only updating PvP every 6 months. If we want fun and balance, we need these updates to come quicker so we can figure out what works and what doesn't.
-
8 RespuestasJust reduce or eliminate special ammo from pvp maybe people will learn to use primaries. The amount of people who run around with special all match is shocking

make destiny year one again
