  • Sidearms have a bad TTK outside of shotgun range. If you're dying to those all the time it's not them who lacks skill.

  • Like I said, in 6's is not ammo. I always have special than, the problem is going to be elim modes(trials), after the second round all you're going to see is people rushing with sidearms. Bungie didn't actually addressed the special ammo problem, they just moved it.

  • I sort of agree but I have been absolutely mapped and melted by some people with wormwood. That gun is gonna be a problem... I'm older and don't have the energy to continually spam trigger on sidearms.... I work all day... Too tired to use that type of energy ya lil bastards!!

    Use a HC and use cover. They don't win 1v1s with handcannons in handcannon range. I've been using a conviction II when I've played. In my 15 kill + games usually get 8-10 HC kills, and 1-2 conviction kills, the others super, heavy, abilities, etc. Sidearm kills are where I jumped at someone in the air and took them out because they stayed still too long. I would use a handcannon but rangefinder zooms in too much. It's not the sidearm really doing work, it's people who haven't adapted yet. Also, try the teacup tempest from the vanguard robot! Not quite as fast as wormwood's ttk but less spammy. two hip fired body shots + a melee is a kill. Slide into someone, melee, then shoot twice from the hip. It works wonders.

  • If you think they're that good, yes of course. I think you can counter them just fine with a primary and movement. Movement being the key. If you can't counter them with a primary learn to 'just spam R2'. I doubt you'll suddenly see your K/D spike lol They are so much less oppressive than shotguns.

  • Yup, I knew this would happen... Bungie screws over every special except for sidearms and makes it extremely blatant that they want more sidearm use. Now that everyone's using a sidearm, people will start complaining. Bungie will look at some charts and see sidearms rocket in use (no sh!t), specifically wormwood, and nerf them, going in a nerf cycle...

  • THE DAY HAS COME! SIDEARMS OFFICIALLY TAKE NO SKILL! I've gotta go find you a poll a while back post-RoI that decided that sidearms took the most skill among special weapons. It was a bit of a two-horse race between them and fusions, but sidearms eventually won. Got a lot of votes, too. But the decision was clear: sidearms took skill. I knew with this patch that there'd be people saying very soon that sidearms were skill-less weapons, even though there was literally no change other than the net buff from getting passed over with the ammo nerf, which has nothing to do with the gun itself. Thanks for making my day.

  • Before the patch, yeah, it took skill to use a sidearm, because back then you actually had competition. In trials, after the second round, all you're going to see is sidearm pushers, bungie didn't address the special ammo problem, they just moved it.

  • I don't disagree with you there, but nothing's changed from before the patch. Sidearms still are skilled weapons that require effective recoil control, even if they are now the best special weapon due to being passed over by the ammo nerf.

  • Yep, someone here said, "imagine bungie selling cars.... they will nerf their top selling car in order to sell their shittier cars" after all the shotgun nerfs, shotguns are fine now. Taking all the special ammo away it's just an over kill. Not only did you nerf shotgun, but in a way nerf all the other specials from being used as well.

  • I don't mind the special change in a vacuum, TBH. Sidearms getting passed over was stupid, but I am finding myself in primary battles a lot more than before. The problem for me is how slow everyone plays. We already saw this with heavy; aggressive shotgunners suddenly started sitting in their own spawn with their precious heavy, too afraid to move out for fear of getting killed. With special now essentially functioning the same as heavy, this same behavior is now happening the entire game. And now we have Trials starting later today and with no Skorri change happening on the horizon, matches are going to take forever, even with the round time being toned down. It's just a stupid way to go about things.

Sidearms op nerf them" lmfao I was poking fun at my trials buddy who used to be a shotgun warrior. He used to tell me I was a scrub for using sidearms as a special and would constantly tell me I needed to switch in matches to a shotgun.... no thanks lol now he's like sidearms are so OP rofl. Do what now a few days ago I was bad for using them because they weren't on the radar lol

  • You spawn with ammo, not only that but, you don't loose what you picked up prior to dying. When it comes to specials, sidearms are far stronger and easier to use than anything else right now.
