This update is GOOD

Bungie , I know that every time you balance the game you get a lot of disagreeing minds and even unwarranted unmitigated hate. Truth is I love this new patch. I am using my primary much more not having to look behind my back wondering if a shotgun going to blow half my face off before I shoot him down. So kudos to you. Next , I address the community. If you truly have issues with this update post them with actual feedback on the forums why you agree or disagree with the changes. Making stark demands or hitting below the belt asking for resignations is highly wrong . I'm not saying everyone has done this but I have seen my fair share of it since the patch rolled out several days ago. In short dissension spread across the board because your favorite streamer agrees with you and is throwing the biggest fit only further compounds the division within the integrity of the community. It's childish behavior to throw a tantrum because you want your way. Changes: My argument towards removing quick fire is an excellent decision because it gives classes much more of an edge in primary fire engagements, and should be designated to perks on a gun so if you truly want this advantage ( which it clearly is ) you have to sacrifice other perks in favor of it. Next Blade dancer and STORMCALLER I really can't say if your decision to balance Blade dancer is an entirely good thing in the eyes of the community. However I do agree that with others that you might have done this because of the lack of shotguns in the crucible and you don't want a team of Blade dancers dominating most players that can't shut them down quick enough. STORMCALLER melee was broken and completely warranted. No one should be able to punch or melee you from that distance and plenty of examples were shown to support this. So all in all there are some good changes , And I didn't touch of all of them but I stand behind my decision in stating that this game feels much better than before. I want to continue to see variety in the crucible not one class or subclass weapon over another. Thanks for taking the time to read have a positive experience gaming. Note : if you have come here to cry I will just ignore your rants. I know that some feel entitled to cry about these changes but I won't give in. Adapt or simply put take a break or move on.   • I remember when crucible used to be fun, recently my experience is that each balance has slowly sucked the life and fun out of the game to replace it with boring competitive meta warriors - I couldn't have cared less about how OP a shotgun is or a sniper is, it doesn't matter if everyone can stick one on then there is no need to 'balance' anything it's already fair and balanced because no-one is at a disadvantage. Different weapon types for different scenarios and play to the scenario your weapon is best suited to I.e. you can't expect to win battles with a slow scout rifle against a hand cannon at close quarters. Removing special ammo on death is like stealing candy from a baby, would have preferred a set amount of special ammo that doesn't disappear and no ammo crates, one x2 ammo box drop per game that contains special and heavy. I want to have fun playing crucible and play the way I want, not the way I'm now forced to, I don't want to have to look for special, pick it up, reload and then go off to the action simply because it's BORING - my main primary is a scout rifle but I happily switch to hand cannons and pulse rifles, I rarely use auto rifles because they are still garbage, year one I loved my grim citizen but they just mainly suck, secondary is a shotgun though I like using fusions too, snipers don't suit the way I play and I'm not great with them either. It'd be nice to go into crucible and just have fun again but it's never going to happen, I'm dismayed at how many matches I'm put in that are almost over, at how bad some of the connections are and why the person that is lagging the hardest is always leading. What ever happened to the lag referee? Why does Bungie allow anyone with a red bar to be in a game? How difficult is it to look at someone's connection and tell them, sorry your internet connection isn't suitable for PVP? The things that really matter just don't get addressed, if this is Destiny 2 in the making and Bungie doesn't improve the player experience then why should I bother buying the next instalment of just the same old shit repackaged. I think we need fun back in crucible and the game before the end of this year or I'm just not going to bother anymore, I'll remember all the fun but it was a long time ago....

    • Yeah lightning nades Will probably be nerfed the next time since it's range and no drop off is so ridicouloss. Could imaging that either smoke or Kein scout Will be touched aswell next time. If not those, then movement speed is gonna be nerfed, especially jumping. Making it so running Will be faster than jumping. Either way, the game Will change again

    • I've been playing elimination and skirmish, and although you see more sidearms, they can be outplayed. Its actually fun again, and no, its not camping. I get to play more aggressive now and not have to maintain a distance between the opponents. Due to shotguns, or warlock melee. You also notice a big gap in skill from players unlike before. I personally enjoy playing PvP again, yes the sidearms are annoying but, unlike shotgun, it doesn't require you to need a shotgun to compete, neither is it a trade everytime. You also see a variety of weapons being used and different approaches. I really do believe that this patch is a step towards improvement. I know many would disagree and I do disagree with some of the patch. But, its not as bad as people are saying it is. If you disagree please explain why? I would like to know your reasoning behind it.

      • Finally a reasonable post. Truthers just need to reload and blade dancers need to be smarter. Before the nerf that super was barely counterable. I'm actually able to challenge it now just like the other roamers.

        • I love the patch, thought I would hate it, I run sniper hand cannon all the time. I got my second "prevailed unbroken" EVER last night running pulse and a sniper . People have to use gun skill now, it sets people apart. I love it.

          • I just saw the title, the absence of a satire tag, and immediately disliked the post. The patch was so bad that Cozmo actually had to put up a post asking for more feedback. I wonder why.

            • I'm sorry but all I play is pvp and that's all I've played since the first week of destiny. It's had its ups and downs. As much as the last meta was terrible this one is a joke. It just provides people who have no real skill to use crutchy guns likes autos and sidearms. Autos deserved a buff not gonna lie but this whole patch was useless the matador has nothing different on it. The truth is thatwith every patch they kill their game more and more rather than just fixing what needed it. Blade never should have been nerfed but ya know its bungie so....

                You must work for Bungie...they killed the red death and the truth ..the red death kinda been dead but I got new or ornaments for them ..now they're siting in my early! Soon they will be shards

                • Your right the patch is great...as a 4,000 hour 1,000,000 kill player i can finally stop playing until D2. A big thanks to the folks over at Bungle for yet again removing all the fun from the game and making us all play the way they want us play. Two big thumbs up!!!

                  • I personally found the patch to be negative, as all that was happening for me was people teamshotting me or getting assists. It removed many of the gameplay options, and while I did dislike Matadors and Clever Dragons, I could no longer snipe or use any special ammo effectively. I am not the best player, but I felt that I was a decent sniper at least. In the end, I don't find the new teamshooting, camping, and assist-full meta as fun as the matador and Clever dragon meta before it, and I hated how dominant both were, but I think this was the wrong answer. Bungie takes the nuclear option once more.

                    • As someone who was never the best at the crucible and yet enjoy playing my own way for fun I felt this change was good and it got rid of the shotgun rush playstyle that may players became attuned to. It was really annoying since I never could get the perfect Matador to drop and facing all those matadors users in the crucible. I do think bungie needs to fix the health regen perks soon because I need it on my voidlock to save my life and adjust the sidearm special on respawn; as much as I love my trespasser it feels like many are resorting to these weapons like they did for the shotguns in the last meta. Overall I felt this patch was a good change, may not be the best change and hopefully bungie will learn it's lesson for Destiny 2.

                      • Thats cool. I suppose we all can do that. You know what would be really cool? If they just got rid of secondaries. We can all adjust our play styles and have way less options and way less fun. I like your approach of just giving in.

                        • I loved the new changes but I just cant understand why they always make some stealth nerf on titans. Most people dont use titans, the only thing that was OP on a striker was the juggernault that was properly nerfed, but then you discover that they decreased Titans armor... The only class that was supposed to be a tank and that is way less mobile than any other classes. So, now strikers have a totally unpredictable super that will sometimes kill a whole team, but most of the times make you bounce in the enemies' head and release your super somewhere else different of where you aimed (often killing no one, because the action radius is stupidly small comparing to other supers). Are way less mobile than any other classes and now it just can take the same ammount of shots as any other class on destiny. Their shoulder charge was nerfed before taking way more time to recharge BUT the problem of "shoulder charge being unpredictable" wasn't fixed at all, it even got worst, so a lot of times you was supposed to kill your enemy with a SC and you just end up throwing him away without kill it... or you just pass throug it like a phanton... or you end up inside somewhere else outside the map and die by the time. Seems that just no one on Bungies team play with Titans at all. Titan was my main class for years, and right now i'm really considering to change for Hunter, as I can at least avoid shots, I have way better and complete support class than titan and way resourceful attack class with gunslinger or even blade dancer (as i'm not much for use supers).

                                • Yes primaries are good I'll give you that. Special ammo nerf was stupid. Life regen gimped on all classes whether by mistake or not sucks! In pve especially! Truth nerf was also messed up. So they pretty much broke more than they fixed. People are not happy..

                                        • While I have come to agree with most of the points in your post (I still believe the nerf to stormcaller melee was unecessary but w/e), the fact is that this patch has shown NO benefits to PVE gameplay whatsoever thus far. This is something that is often overlooked as people mostly seem to put a focus on the PVP changes for whatever reason. I know that Bungie has stated on several occasions that PVE/PVP patches won't ever be dissociated from each other, but now there really isn't much of an incentive anymore to run bladedancer in PVE. I used to enjoy playing that subclass in Y1, but now there's really no reason to pick anything other than Nightstalker for end-game activities, especially with camo smoke bomb. Voidwalker and Defender also took a hit with the Hungering Blade bug, and I really hope that Bungie will listen and just fix those ASAP. Other than that, this patch has been a lateral move for PVP, if you ask me. Sure shotguns aren't running rampant anymore, but I've already experienced the sidearm meta. I find myself using my Teacup quite a lot when I already have a handcannon equipped lol. That, and I've seen a fair amount of other players using them to good results. Atleast sidearms are finally getting the love they deserve, I guess. In the end, I really just don't want PVP to dictate how I should play PVE. Just my two cents.

                                            • I would say the patch is decent but I haven't tried it yet. But I think like you said health regent wasn't a problem but what should have been done is that primary guns should be more powerful than now after the update and keep the special weapons the way they were and not touch the exotics. We can only have 1 exotic equipped so it has to be more powerful than legendary guns. That's my problem at this point
