Cayde's obsession with the vault of glass.
In the Cayde 6 grimior he is said to have an aye on the vault of glass. This throwaway line hadn't had anything come from it. Until in the nexus remastered Cayde barges in on Ikora while she is describing the mission and then when confronted on why he was there he dodges the question never giving an actual answer. These two facts may seem unrelated but they both have to do with the vault. No other NPC has ever interrupted like this expect for Cayde and this just so happens to be the one mission where the vex are using tech from the vault. Obviously when he heard that we were going to be associated with the vault yet again he couldn't resist to oversee it. But that leaves the question of why? It might just be for the adventure or the challenge but we've already done it and that tales much of the "fun" out of it. No I think there is more to this. If you've read Cayde's journal than you know he had a lover. Many believe this lost love to be Maya Sunderush, the most likely candidate for being the Exo Stranger. I believe this leaves two possibilities:
One; he wants to use the vault to travel back to be with her again or
Two; he wants to use the vault to find her in the vex gate network.
This might just be me reading [b]WAY[/b] to deep into this or I might be onto something so let me know what you think.

I can already imagine that cayde send us to the vault of glass with wrong intel. And later gives his inpute about a girl. Just like with the stealth drive and letting us know that its better to not damage the machine. And in the tower it explodes in his face. Just blaming us for braking it😅. Cayde i know you like it to see some loot from the vault of glass. But I barely survived oryx mate. Come on I aint braking things.

7 RespuestasIf anything, it's probably going to be a precursor to a remastered Vault of Glass. Hopefully, the coin is flipped and instead of taken, it would be SIVA... so we can finish it off.

2 RespuestasRemember Cayde's secret room where he sorted all the exotics and one of them was for a girl he knew? It's probably the Exo Stranger. She is obviously a time traveler and the vault of glass and vex are obsessed with it so Cayde wants some sort of time travel tech to either A, find her because he already knows that she is a time traveller or B, he has no clue where she is and wants to go back in time to see her the easy way.

2 RespuestasIf his lover was Maya, and if Maya IS the stranger, then it would make since that he wants to understand the vault and its secrets. The stranger's systems seem to work around Vex technology. Cayde most likely wanted to know how to find her, or to be like her. It's also possible that he's simply interested because of the vaults mysteries.

1 RespuestaIt seems to me that the exo stranger comes and goes with an amount of control. So he may love her but she obviously has not decided to use her abilities to be with him. I do believe that time travel or the cyclical nature of history plays a pivotal role in the original plot though and would be eager to see bungie bring everything full circle to reintroduce the stranger and possibly the vault. Still the best gear and raid by far.
