1st...i am voidwalker main...
2nd...Who the -blam!- wanted hungering blade nerfed?
Now to my point....
Bungie just nerfed thunderstrikes range to meet all warlocks melee range....most people would think "thank god, that stupid melee finally got nerfed!!!"
Lets think about what this means...
Stormcaller has these nades(aka the worst nade sets out of all 9 subclasses):
-storm nade
-pulse nade
-arc bolt
Not even close to the value of the nades all other 8 subclasses have (skips, fusions, magnetics, axion bolts and lightning nade)
Lets see what else stormcallers have (what they dont)
-Stormcallers dont have shields like sunsingers or defenders..
-cant "regen" like sunbreakers, voidwalkers and (bladedancers)
-dont have invis, smoke bombs, throwing knifes, jugg or shoulder charge
Dont have movements like air evade and shadestep....
Yes people they have NOTHING! No neutral game...this is the first time in 2+ years i am looking at a NAKED SUBCLASS!!!!
Why the -blam!- would anyone choose this naked subclass....Bungie done -blam!-ed up...again
Edit 1: Yes...i am afraid of them going for voidwalkers in the future as everyone will probably play that class.
Edit 2: i was never against some sort of nerf, but now special ammo(shotgun ammo) has been nerfed...so why nerf the whole melee into the ground for no reason.

The melee is still op asf so u can chill m8

Landfall shouldn't have been nerfed, if anything ionic blink should've received the decreased timer change instead.

3 RespuestasEditado por sargetc: 2/10/2017 2:24:27 AMYou're forgetting one thing. With the right specs they have the best PVP Super in the game. I have seen Stormcallers go from one end of the map to another, wiping a team AND getting people on their respawn. No other class can do this. Howbow dah? Edit; i re-read and I see that you are talking about the neutral game, but I think the Super is so good that it counters their weak neutral game. I would have liked to see you Warlocks get a little buff on nade damage to compensate but Stormcaller is still going to be strong... at least in 6v6

16 RespuestasMy Stormcaller will be retiring from PvP on February 13. I refuse to give those nerf whiners the chance to pound him into oblivion once Bungie makes him defenseless. And I urge other Stormcaller users to do the same. Bungie wrecked Sunbreaker. They trashed Sunsinger. Now they're ruining Stormcaller. I can't stop it, but I won't play along with it. From 2-14 on out, my warlock is PvE only.
-
4 RespuestasI swear warlocks are the biggest whiners out there. They bitch and complain about everything. Waaah nerf tripmines waaah nerf sunbreaker and when they get nerfed they never stfu about it. Sunsinger was nerfed like 5 months ago and warlocks still bitch it's not the best subclass anymore. Boohoo I was the best PvP subclass and now I'm the best PvE subclass. That must suck. And now stormcaller melee is getting nerfed and rightfully so and your bitch and whine about that too. Stormcaller the naked subclass. Are you kidding me? Yeah stormcaller sure is going to suck now that you cant melee people from fusion range. And the super? It's the worst. It only averages 3 kills a use. What a slouch. And don't even get me started on the nades. They're basically the same as every other class except they're worse because it's a warlock. I mean, all arc web does is make them 100x better than what they are on every other class but wahwahwah my nades should be over powered to make up for my complete incompetents. You know what really a naked subclass? None of them. Because they all have their pros and cons. Not like you would know since you only ever use what's in the meta

1 RespuestaIf you are smart, you will keep your Stormcaller out of the Crucible. If not, well, I hope you're like that kinky lady in the T-Mobil commercials, because you're gonna get a butt whuppin'.

Rip warlocks. As a warlock main I remember how it was for all sub classes void was always main choice. the obsidian mind was a pve winner, the ram actually used to have a +2 agility perk on it, and the nothing manacles grenades didn't bounce wherever the hell they feel like. Void was a well balanced class then nerf. Sunsinger (all about grenades) was a very a effective class. It used to have a decent shield perk nice burn set up self revive for raids and great pvp/pve styled greandes... nerf. Now storm caller had some decent shine here and there to me it was mainly melee the grenades were meh. For the unsuspecting you were a problem in pvp unto initial nerf now to nerf again is just killing EVERY subclass sing the isn't any buffs added.
-
There's literally no reason to have a 'Lock anymore. Sun singer supposed to be the 'Locks support class. Barely noticeable compared to Nigh Stalker and Defender. Storm Caller I guess will still be okay for add killing. But guess what else is better at it? Night stalker and sun breaker. Oh hey, there's still voidwalker. Little to no benefit in pve. Say what you will for VW in pvp.... but it's garbage, to me at least. Very little synergy. You get axion bolts, and health regen IF you get a kill with it. Yay? Void walker has even less neutral abilities than storm caller and less synergy that sun singer. Honestly if and when I play on warlock I'll still play Storm Caller, because the super hasn't changed, just can't use land fall to get the most benefit. Until the 'Locks get a slight buff I'll be wrecking pve and pvp with Night Stalker, and titan occasionally. The Warlock can chill and read his books.
Stormcaller has these nades(aka the worst nade sets out of all 9 subclasses): -storm nade -pulse nade -arc bolt Not even close to the value of the nades all other 8 subclasses have (skips, fusions, magnetics, axion bolts and lightning nade)
Alright, here's this warlock's two cents: First of all, the "worst grenade set" award currently goes to gunslingers. That's not to say that they're bad nades, just underwhelming in comparison (tripmines are still nasty when used properly). Second, I'm really not sure why people think arcbolts are bad. I'm guessing that's another by-comparison issue. They're deadly, especially when paired with perpetual charge. No you wouldn't pick arcbolt on a bladedancer over skip grenades or flux grenades, but on warlock they're probably the most reliable tracking grenade. Axions can be slid under, and firebolt tracking is .... well ... a joke now. You're also not considering that the melee distance shown on stream still exceeds Scorch and Energy drain. That melee appeared to be chain lightning, so amplitude might work from further still. If you ask me, you could nerf thunderstrike's range down to nothing and still have a viable build with pulsewave, perpetual charge and ionic blink. Yes it's frustrating to see nerfs on an aspect of warlock that allows them to contend with the evade abilities of the other classes, but it's hardly a killing blow to the class. In fact, without the ability for shotguns to land crits and high RoF pulses getting nerfed, it should positively affect Stormtrance's ability to tear through teams. tl;dr There's still plenty of reasons to play Stormcaller and you will still see people cleaning house Tuesday.
-
1 RespuestaTbh I could care less about you stinking warlocks.
-
2 RespuestasIn a recent Xbox 3's tourney that Puppy and his team won, the host banned amplitude.... But every team still ran a stormcaller. The class won't be dead. Don't worry about it
-
10 RespuestasStfu stormcallers are op af honestly the amount of times a stormcaller -blam!-ing shot at me once and teleported at me from 10 metres away and killed me its so bs Try being a gunslinger its literally the only subclass that takes skill
-
7 RespuestasThis Stormcaller nerf will ruin the subclass, and in my opinion it will be a worse subclass than Sunsinger. Even though Sunsinger is weak in PvP, the class shines in PvE. Stormcaller does not have the luxury of that. Stormcallers were only popular due to the meta favouring Shotgun play so heavily. When Snipers were the meta special, Stormcaller's were considered very weak against them. They were only seen in 6v6 game types since their super lasted incredibly long at the time. Stormcaller will have nothing special to set it apart from the other Warlock subclasses. Nearly the whole subclass perk tree is set around a strong super or a strong neutral game. Feedback and Perpetual Charge will be weak choices as the melee itself is poor. At best, Stormcaller will be a gimmicky class built on gathering as much super charge as possible with Electrostatic Mind and Skorri's Artifact, and using Transcendence to seal kills. If Amplitude keeps the melee range at the exact same as it is now, then Bungie have removed all reason for someone to use Chain Lightning or Rising Storm in PvP or PvE.

10 RespuestasDon't bring Gunslingers into this. We have shit nades, and if throwing knife was competitive, more people would use it competitively.
-
1 RespuestaLandfall, ionice blink and unlimited power. I think they'll be just fine.
-
6 RespuestasTo answer the question about who wanted hungering blade nerfed. 1 guy... They nerfed it because 1 dev found it annoying to deal with.
-
5 RespuestasDon't play stormcaller that much. Don't plan to. Voidwalkers Ftw!
-
1 RespuestaIs the Landfall nerf going to apply to the Impossible Machines? ... They only mentioned it will if 'you select that node on the subclass' Surely this would render them as useless as Astrocyte Verse
-
2 RespuestasThermite and swarm grenades say hello.
-
2 RespuestasBladedancers get blink strike reduced to less than standard warlock melee range, nobody cares. Storm (with amplitude) gets their melee range reduced but still has considerably longer range than standard warlock melee, everyone complains the class is dead.
-
13 RespuestasI almost cried when I heard what they did to Stormcallers. (I'm a void main too.) Bungie just loves ruining the warlock classes. Sunsinger used to be fun. Now it's trash. Stormcaller used to be fun, now it has nothing going for it. Voidwalker was decimated and trash at first, now it is much more viable.
-
1 RespuestaDon't forget they ruined the only storm caller exotics because of the Landfall Nerf Rip impossible machines
-
1 RespuestaYeah if they were gonna nerf the stormcaller melee they should have buffed the greandes a bit. Buff them all really. Pulse grenade is trash so it needs a buff to be useable. Arcbolts are pretty weak now and blade also got nerfed so it would make sense if that nade got a buff to compensate for super nerfs/melee nerfs to both classes. And then the storm grenade, maybe make it deal its damage a bit faster since it takes too long to do that now. Stormcaller kd on average has always been pretty much in the middle of the subclasses, not standing out as op statistically if you look at tracker sites. Yes the melee was very good but that is because the grenades are so bad. Therefore in a way it was balanced allthough the melee sometimes was a bit obnoxious, but in the same way being hunted down by skips or mapped by lightning grenades is also obnoxious. Melee was the shochlocks standout feature while lightning and skating is the strikers, etc.
-
This is so right. The entire subclass is built around the melee which is now useless. The grenades are also pretty bad. Only thing they have going for them is super, which can be shut down kinda easily.
-
3 RespuestasIt surprised me that so many people bitched about the extended melee range, especially since it didn't output the full melee damage when you picked the range increase perk. But since when have they actually done anything that made sense?
-
I don't understand why thunder strike was nerfed it does that what the damn title says.. Lol
