Petition to bring back weapon rerolling
With Destiny 1 near it's end and no more dlcs coming out for it, more and more people are beginning to leave destiny. Many feel discouraged when they get the weapon drop they've wanted, only for it to come with the worst roll possible, so they're inclined to quit the game as many others already have. With weapon rerolling, people will feel satisfied to finally have the god roll Longbow Synthesis or Eyasluna they've always wanted. Some may even come back to Destiny with this fantastic readdition. So please, bring back weapon rerolling.
Edit 1: Many of you are claiming the crucible would be filled with the same rolls and weapons, but isn't that the crucible already? You always see the vendor palindrome, the vendor clever dragon, and a crowd control/rangefinder/CAOP, performance bonus/full auto, agressive ballistics, and reinforced barrel/rifled barrel matador.
Edit 2: My proposal includes ALL legendary weapons (year 1, 2, and 3), excluding trials of osiris and raid weapons of course.

Edit 4: I see people claiming weapon reforging caused a lack of weapon diversity during the HoW, but the lack of diversity was actually due to the meta. Many guns were simply not as good as others, which was why you saw many people using the same weapons.
Edit 5: A few of you are mentioning armor reforging for legendaries. I do believe it would be nice to have, but this topic is for weapons.
Edit 6: As of right now, people have the "if it's not a godroll, then it's a dismantle" mindset and for good reason. Chances are, you don't get the roll on the weapon you want, and many people are grinding for that same weapon over and over. It really gets old. More and more people are leaving this game because of the lack of content. With reforging, it wouldn't be difficult to get the "roll you've always wanted," so it'll give an option for people to try other weapons, weapons that normally wouldn't be good without a good roll. I'm not making this petition because I don't have the best eyasluna or the best matador, but I'm making this post to hopefully add variety to weapons, weapons that normally wouldn't be used.

There already is rerolling. Most people want God Roll PvP weapons, and you can pick up the old PoE weapons and reroll them. They won't work for IB or Trials though but worth mentioning.

Agreed. Being able to re roll weapons was a god send to people like me that have only had 6 matadors to drop and NONE of them came with aggressive ballistics, rangefinder, rifled barrel. The only people that don't want that to return are the people that have these god rolled weapons and think to themselves, man I had to grind crucible to get this so should everyone else. Almost every game that has rpg elements like destiny had allows you to re roll weapons/gears/ whatever.

At least this way, you'd still have to grind for a decent roll instead of being able to get a complete shit stick and re-roll it into godliest weapon in the game for a few glimmer, or something. Up the price each roll too. This would kill two birds in one stone. We would be able to re-roll something we like into something better, and Bungie would still get increased play time as we would still need to grind for a decent roll. EDIT: Fixed a typo.

1 RespuestaI'll just jump right in and say... I loved reforging! It was honestly my favorite thing to do.. I still do it now with my year 1 guns just for fun and to try different perks. I'd love it to come back but in a way I don't think it needs to. Others have said this already and really looking at everything I agree with them... It's the need for certain perks to make a particular archetype of weapon powerful that is the problem. The biggest culprits are by far the range and stability modifier perks. I shouldn't need to give examples but having a Matador drop without rifled/ reinforced barrel is a dealbreaker for anyone who wants a competitive shotgun. Blah blah blah same for primaries, range for handcannons and stability for anything else ( mostly ). I feel that legendary weapons should be just that..ledgendary! The Palindrome..a feared weapon in the crucible renowned for it's accuracy at range and stability under fire! ( example!) My Palindrome should have the same range and stability as everyone elses...regardless of perks. Where they differ is in our individual perk choices which we make to suit our playstyle( specing for a certain build) or personal preferences such as outlaw because I just gotta have outlaw on my handcannons. Do away with all range and stability increasing modifier perks and actually buff all weapons base stats to basically where they are now with a optimal roll. That way when you finally get your Grasp of Malok you know you don't have to worry if its got counter balance and or braced frame or whatever...it'll be a solid useable gun straight off the bat! Where it will differ from others will be it's utility perks such as outlaw or third eye and so on. Another big thing to make this work alot better would be to either completely remove all the dud perks...or change them to give them a much better utility role and be worthy of the slot. And now we get back to the idea of reforging? Well with these changes could anyone argue that it would be a problem anymore? I appreciate if you guys read this and at least considered this as a viable option to not only reforging, but as a forward step to weapon balancing in general. ☺

Idk about re forging, its really helpful and make life easier but kinda eliminates a big part of the game. The April update made the game a lot easier to get leveled up by yourself and faster in general making the game overall easier, creating an alternative to things like re forging Even though Destiny is coming to an end I don't think re forging would be a great idea, people would get angry at the fact that they just added it and totally abandoned it in Destiny 2 (let's be honest it's not happening there) Yes it would be awesome to have but I don't think it would fix anything whatsoever, and yes people just buy god roll vendor weapons but they also grind to get those weapons, they aren't free. Getting legendary marks can be pretty annoying if you have none and your trying to get 150 for one weapon, and then Iron Banner makes you grind until you get to the right rank. If this does get implemented I think it should be a lot more expensive than it was so it's not the awesome "God Roll- A- Matic" we have known it to be.

They just need to rebuff everything back to its most powerful state other than vexing mythoclast, that shit was real op. Let us reroll everything like u stated in ur topic, and bring everything to year 3 level including raids and old strikes. That should hold us off until D2

1 RespuestaEditado por RushMinion: 2/8/2017 9:22:57 AMHi guardians, so let us see the other of the coin.Ok not a bad idea but........!!!!The game stands on grinding for weapons and armor and all of the things that we want so much and with the best and recomendet perks.Its true that D1 is near its end but at this point most people complain for more content,weapons(new not reskins),armor......so if we get the mentioned stuff and then simply go to the gunsmith spend some materilas,glimmer,marks and motes,wich dont take so much time to get,and only hit the button for our best roll we want what then?most of the people were happy get some kills with it and after 5-6 games turn if the game only because they got the stuff with the GOD ROLL and never ever play Will of Crota or Undying Mind or use boosters for Vanguard,Crucible or House of Jugdement to grind for ranks so i think the game would die even more faster and even more people would start to complain about content,stuff......etc. I know RNG is sometimes a bitch and all of us dont get what we want and if sometimes the perks makes this stuff worthless.I got so many Lunas,LDR,Longbow....but 80% of it right after i got it was dismantlet,even if it hurts but.....you know:-) And only because of this are there still players in the tower,orbit,patrols.....they grind for what they really want and that makes this game still alive until D2 comes out.So that is my thought about and i wish all of you that RNG stays with you and all of you they didnt got the stuff with the right perks on you want wish you get it as soon as possible.GG

1 RespuestaI'm surprised that so many people apparently only play this game to grind for a god roll. If you don't find the content enjoyable enough to replay without direct incentive, either Bungie did a shit job or you should really be playing another game. Why force yourself to play something you don't really enjoy? Is fighting double rng really worth it? I really just don't understand how people can say reforging would eliminate the only reason people still play this game. I was under the impression that people who play destiny actually enjoy doing so.

If they arent going to bring that back the least they could do is make it so that with your legendary marks you are be able to buy randomly rolled weapons from the vendors, over trying to get a good roll on weapon from leveling my rank up and having all these legendary marks i dont use.

1 RespuestaI've always wanted the gun smith to be able to combine guns together. For example, I give the gun smith one imago loop with outlaw and one with firefly and he combines them onto one gun. Let me choose which perks stay.
