WRONG. All those times you say we speak English, and you can't get it through you head when we tell you we're speaking American. Apologize.
-
I have literally never seen someone say they speak American.
-
Well guess what, I speak American. And stop pretending your language is so pure, it's all kinds of bastardized. The number of times the island was occupied and conquered has led to numerous shifts in the language. You're trying to do another vowel shift, with the whole, "Received Pronunciation" meme you've got going on over there. You decided that using "R"s is bad manners, or should I say, bad mannuhs.
-
It should have been clear that this started as a joke. Oh wait - I said that. I don't know why you're getting so triggered by something so small and trivial. That's exactly why I made the joke - to get away from stuff like that. I guess it's just impossible to merely have a laugh.

Again, America can either use English, or call their language something else. As long as you continue to say you speak/write in English, you will use English. *apologiSe.
-
Yeah... Because saying "Me mum" sounds very proper

http://grammarist.com/spelling/apologise-apologize/ Again, you're wrong

It's spelt with a z... not an s... look it up.
-
Hey, if America want to continue calling their language English then they need to write and pronounce it like the actual English. Or, they can call it something else.
-
There's this cool little thing called lingual differences. You should learn them.
-
I know. I have no problem with them. This started as a joke, now I'm explaining that Americans say they use English yet criticise actual English spellings and pronunciations.
-
I've never seen an American criticize the English way of spelling because we actually understand that there are differences.
-
You and I have had very different experiences with the internet.
