While I do agree that we should buff primaries, I do think that snipers should have a very slight decrease in flinch. Giving snipers more flinch encourages campy sniping, and although some may argue that the purpose of a sniper is to camp, the map layouts in destiny do not promote sitting in the back of a map. Buffing primaries, applying a very slight flinch decrease (and maybe handling as well) to snipers, and leaving shotguns as they are should produce a fairly generous meta. Shotguns and snipers would be able to counter each other quite effectively, and primaries would be able to actually compete. That's just my two cents though.

  • First off, snipers and shotguns range and usage wise have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with each other. Two opposite end of the spectrum weapons. It's a false equivalency. Second, It sounds like what people are advocating for is a return of the ohk scout rifle. Snipers by designation are not mobile nor are they very quick handling. I can understand why some people long for a return of the prior BROKEN weapon mechanics but the fact remains they were changed for a reason. If you find snipers unusable now then you were relying on unbalanced weapon mechanics to facilitate your gameplay They are in a place that is more in line with being what they are, long distance precision one shot kill weapons.

  • Actually they were harder to use than in year one, but nobody complained then. Only when more people picked up snipers and got skilled with them did people complain.

  • What "skill" was being applied when someone stood out in the open at mid range tanking headshots until the broken flinch allowed the reticle to recenter allowing a headshot

Unfortunately, you can't pull off half the stuff in this video simply because there are mechanics that have been nerfed which make sniping much more difficult. If this isn't skill, then I don't know what is.

  • Hes quickscoping ..ohk scout rifling ...skillful..yes to a degree ....but is that what a sniper rifle is supposed to do Thats what everyone who said bring snipers in line asked for. Make them behave like a sniper rifle. And on a side note im.pretty sure that guy is using a sniper just fine still

  • I know the main argument people seem to have is "reduce flinch," but the reality is, fast handling is what made the shots in that video possible. I like to think of handling on a sniper as something that allows a sniper to show their full potential. It makes good snipers shine while it hardly does anything for average snipers. I know flinch is annoying, but I can understand the argument for it. What I don't understand is the handling nerfs. I feel it would prevent players from camping in the back of the map with high aim assist snipers that get the kills for them. I understand that some might want snipers to stay as long range weapons, but I feel that the flinch will keep bad snipers from being successful while the skilled snipers at least have a fighting chance. If these skilled snipers are mostly a minority (at least less than 10% of the player base), then I don't think it would really create a campy sniper meta, especially when faster handling does nothing to promote passive sniping.

  • You are right to a point. The real problem is poor map design, the vast majority of maps cater to mid and cqc and since people enjoy sniping they will use the weapon whenever they play perfectly understandable. But this game as is cannot support quickfire highly mobile ohk all range weapons..its just too unbalanced to have one weapon ..and a ohk weapon at that to be that far head and shoulders above everything else. Scout equivalent handling and mobility on a all range ohk weapon in this game as it stands borders on being gamebreaking. Why use anything else, why even have primaries or other specials if its who can quickscope slideshot jumpshot from all ranges for a ohk As it is until hopefully D2 i think this is the best we can hope for

  • Skill? Luck? The reticle went straight up and landed right back to the last place it was aimed at lol. That was neither skill or luck. Just a broken weapon design. Its the reason a lot of people use No Land now to avoid the flinch mechanic lol. Skill lol
