Faction Exotica
Bungie! I love the faction exotics! They look kickass, especially with the spawn effect! But when I learn, after receiving my first one, that switching to a new faction (to level up and go collect that class item too of course) I can't wear the old one, I'm like…what!? All that work and I can't wear it! What?!?
I suppose it makes sense from a certain lore perspective, but still! There's plenty of place for showing allegiance during that quest and amongst other things, but once we finally get those cloaks and bonds we should be able to equip them whenever we feel so inclined, we earned them! I think this is change worthy, I wanna collect all the exotics and look dope while I'm doing it!

I do like them also. I honestly just don't understand how the spawn effect can still be broken... It's one of it's main perks. It is just nuts how they just blow this type of thing off. I get the new content focus but what about those that actually spent the time to get all of these? Don't we at least deserve to receive the perks it states it has? Are we asking too much? ::shrugs::

Sad but true, I've been cleaning up old quests lately and did each character separate factions, then switched them all to do second faction. So yeah 3 exotic faction items hanging in the vault, oh well.

It only changes the part around the neck and makes the textures look weird. I loved the New Monarchy exotic cloak, it had a sheen to it. Now it just has a cloth like texture. I also think it was stupid to make legendary versions.

I think that like many things in Destiny, the original vision did not fully translate into the final product. I feel as if the original vision for factions was that you would first have to earn your way to he able to join one. Each faction would have a specialty, and once you joined, that was it. You were a member of that faction, and couldn't join another unless you made a new character. Similar to the original concept for subclasses, where you would choose your nodes, and then "lock it in" that way permanently. Your subclass would henceforth be unchangeable until you made a new character. New monarchy would possibly be something dealing with territory on Earth. Helping New Monarchy claim rulership over territory. To pass initiation, you would have to perform tasks that prove you can reclaim territory for the faction. Things such as killing enemies on the cosmodrome, completing a certain number of scan and exploration missions for new monarchy in the cosmodrome, and winning crucible matches in earth-based crucible arenas. The other factions would have similar requirements with different areas of focus. Maybe the cult of Osiris would be strictly PvP based, while the Trinary Star Cult would be strictly PvE based, etc. Its just my opinion based on how the game world feels to me, but if the original vision for factions was something more permanent, it would explain why the exotic faction items seem to have a system to them that doesn't quite make sense.

3 RespuestasGetting these are truly one of the biggest accomplishments in Destiny. I think they should have kept them out of the legendary pool, and possibly given them a third stat boost; like 24, 11, 10.

I complained about this since TTK came out. Nothing was ever done. Still, i got all nine of them and I can now wear any of them. Grind it out!

1 RespuestaI just rotate factions depending on what I want to wear. However, something I'm kind of peeved about is that with RoI it became possible to get legendary versions of the exotics. So there's that also. You don't need to be in the faction.
