Never heard it.
Never really understood why Cayde is seen as such an amazing character either. If you really look at his character, he's more or less just kind of okay. Far from having anything that makes him stand out as a character, he's basicly built around tropes and traits of universally "likable" characters. I think a lot of his popularity isn't because he's great, but because the other main characters are so dull and lack-luster.
Really looking at the other people in the tower also shows that very few seem to match the personality we've been told or assumed they have. Add to that either inconsistencies or flat out breaks from their traits and it isn't pretty.
So in short, Cayde, as a character with a few of the most basic "likable" traits, does more to show the weakness and bland nature of the characters around him than offer things for me to enjoy.

I'd say the voice actor plays a huge part. As a fan of the guy in general, I'm more inclined to like the character he's voice acting. I just find him so damn funny.

Actually - though he is colourful * He is unreliable every time - he blew up eris' ship - almost killed us - constantly gives us bad intel - incites plans not warranted by vanguard - shows little to no respect for his allies - will never shoulder any responsibility - narcissistic * - pompous - claims glory undue - gambles - probably cheats to win - Cayde -6 is an absolute child . It's why he is liked . Children who play this game and adults with children's minds will identify with this character because he is rebelling against mommy ikora and papa zavala .. it's the family metaphor and there's and role for everyone ... even the outcast goth child eris .

That's a little much. He is the only character to show,well, character...not one other NPC shows anything of a personality, the only one even close is the shipwright, and who cares about her...they should have made zavala all stoic and overly serious,and ikora like a spaced out weirdo...unfortunately none of this games npc's are memorable

He's literally the most "character" we get outta the vanguard....or the majority of this game for that matter

Cayde represents what it's like to be a Hunter. Intentions are for the greater good but prefers to do it his own way. Plus we don't know about pre-exo Cayde.

People love him because the character Cayde is just like Nathan's firefly character Malcolm Reynolds, who was universally loved by fans.

They could do a better job of brining out the other characters personality traits. Honestly hunters are just unserious jokers. As Zavala said, "We cannot get by without their independent way of thinking".

I think it's because he is the jester out of all of them. The others are just zombies and that's why he stands out. He certainly isn't special but I like that it seems they at least tried
