They might already be doing this but I'll explain anyways:
I hope in destiny 2 they keep the old subclasses, but also add new ones that reflect the elements style.
For example: sunbreaker has always seemed like a paladin to me, so wouldn't it be cool if the titan got a shield as a super similar to the relic in vog where you can place it up but still put it down and fire out of it?
Now I know what your thinking "there's already a shield, it's called defender" yeah I know that but I'm just saying I would like a bit more...variety in each of the subclasses.
Or instead of that, they give each subclass 2 supers, one PvP focused and one pve focused but its the same element to make burns more interesting.
I know people probably aren't going to like this post but I feel like it's something they could do, it would make destiny 2 far less stale in the beginning because it's just like "oh they kept the same subclasses, that's boring" and it would be boring because it wouldn't really be anything different, then they could add some more lore and further expand the story.

2 RespuestasWhatever is in Destiny 2 now is almost final. We're most likely going to see something at E3 in a few months :D
-
Well maybe the shield can block all damage for the user only, but the user would lose more super with each blocked hit.
-
4 Respuestasno thanks .. I've got Borderlands for that stuff.
-
20 RespuestasThey're having a hard enough time balancing 9. But people in here want 27? 😂 good luck with that.
-
~ thumbs down ~
-
2 RespuestasMake 2 new subclasses and here are the names:
Dubbel Succ
and
Magic Trashcan III
-
1 RespuestaThats beyond Bungie capacity.
-
2 RespuestasI would rather they just get rid of classes all together and just do a true perk systems. That way you can completely customize your character how you want to play. Kinda like Felwinter was a Warlock but used Shoulder Charge. I would rather customize my character for each encounter than work with a fixed template. Modifiers are X I better use Class Y Rather the Modifiers are X let me use Skill Tree Y but give up perk A and use one from Skill Tree Z. There I gave up a Grenade but now I can revive teammates instantly. Or I want to truly build a Tank class but now I move slower than molasses on a winter day. Reverse I can move from Point A to B in a blink of an eye and can melee you before you can say NERF. But I die if you tickle me with some spinmetal. Or I can just build a character that is jack of all trades and master of none. .

5 RespuestasOr they could just remove hunters and give their subclasses to a trash can.
-
TBH I'd rather they made whole new subclasses, using the old ones would make it feel to much like D1 as it is such a big part of the game. I like your idea though.
-
Would be cool, but bungie would be too lazy to do it. They will probably just add another element such as cryo(ice). Then make new subclasses for that type in year two of destiny two, so people would actually buy it.
-
I think expanded skill trees with more affect on play style would be fun. More things like the hunter invisibility, the warlock self res, the titan bubble. Just more dynamic and powerful options.
-
And how are they gonna add them into the lore now?
-
5 RespuestasYes I like this. Finally I can use Bladedancer in PvE and not feel penalized.
-
1 RespuestaOmg the Sunbreaker shield idea is perfect & I think it would fit well in the game. Just got me so hyped! Lol
-
2 RespuestasThey should just individualize everything. You choose your super element. You choose which specialized frag you want out of options specific for the class in general, not subclass...jump...etc. different trees for different abilities, not just categorized by subclass. Never understood why jumps could be so different just because you are playing bladedancer versus gunslinger verses nightstalker.
-
I would love to see a whole new class. I mean I'll probably stay a Warlock, but that would be so much new stuff to explore.
-
I like the sound of a defensive and offensive version of the subclasses!
-
5 RespuestasIf Destiny taught us anything it's that bungie doesn't put much effort into new things. So I'm guessing destiny 2 is going to be a reskin. I'm Sure vault of glass will be reskinned and we will have the same subclasses with little tweaks. If you keep getting your hopes up you are sure to be disappointed. Bungie wants maximum $ while putting forth little effort
-
3 RespuestasI always thought gunslinger should be able to pick between GG and Golden sniper. But we dont have any longrange maps in the game , So it should be PvE only. Bladedancer should be either melee or throwing knives.
-
9 RespuestasAm I the only one who thinks the game was better when each class only had two subclasses? I'd be down for more Destiny 2 though.
-
4 RespuestasNo just no. I want new everything. Don't want the same subclasses. We will have played them for 3 years. Boring
-
They can't balance out 1 of each
-
Or just add another element
-
I hope new classes
-
I was actually thinking this as well I think each element should have an offensive and defensive oriented subclass
