Not milking, people enjoy it so they keep making it much like American idol did except American idol only had like 3 loyal fans at the end

You think they're spending hundreds of millions making these movies just for the fans? No, it's all about the box office revenue, and eventually DVD sales. The mere fact that three will come out during these three years, shows that it's being milked. Not even episodes 1-3 were made that quickly.

In this case, it's partly due to having teams. Rather than it being one director, one filming crew, one cast, they can have multiple directors and casts on different productions. Rogue One and ep VIII have two different directors, for example

Impulsive movie goers more likely? Got caught up in all those high paced, fast action trailers. I tell you what though, they're making trailers better and better like never before.
