Lightsabers in destiny. Yes or no?
Bungie, with the new Star Wars movie, rogue one, coming out, you need to implement a lightsaber-like weapon in destiny.
Skip to bottom if you are one of those tltr kind of ppl. If not, open the spoiler to read about my Lightsaber ideas.
[spoiler]it would be a secondary weapon and would have the same perk type as the heavy swords.
First, it would have a special kind of block.
Instead of having the energy block, it would do an animation similar to that of the blocks seen in Star Wars the force unleashed. It would have a 50% chance of deflecting incoming fire to a "cone" spread away from you with a 10% chance of hitting your attacker with that spread with reduced damage.
Second, similar to the heavy swords, it can have increased armor to the wielder. And then scabbard, which gives you more "energy capacity"
Furthermore it will have 3 different extra perks on the end tree. 1, lightening strike: faster attack speed, but reduced damage. (5 hits to kill) 2, heavy hitter: slower attack speed, but increased damage. (3 hits to kill) 3, extend: extends the length of the blade, which increases the range of your melee attack. (4 hits to kill)
It would take 3-5 hits to kill someone in crucible, but being a faster attack than normal swords, it would be balanced. And given that it has a faster attack, it would have more base ammo capacity. Say 100 base, and 150 for scabbard and 200 for the second scabbard.
Also, I think it would be cool if memory of radeghast (the one that deflects energy based projectiles) worked with them.
And to top off the legendary Lightsabers, they would have the original colors of the burns, ie: blue for arc, red for solar, purple for void. The only difference is you can put ornaments on them to change the color or use chroma, but it would be better if there was an ornament because they could add black like the one in force unleashed.
Exotic Lightsabers:
They can have a quest to get them with a solar double bladed saber, void dual wielding sabers, and an arc whip saber. I haven't decided exactly what the RT attack would be, but I'm liking the idea of a 10 hit combo for the void dual wielding sabers. Maybe an Indiana Jones whip grab and shock for the arc whip. And a helicopter strike for the double bladed saber.[/spoiler]
Lightsabers can be a secondary slot alternative to the heavy swords. Instead of the swords, which feel heavy and take longer to slash around, you can have the lighter feeling faster hitting lightsaber.
Comment on what you think, if it should be a thing in destiny, or if not, and why. Also if you think I hit the nail on the head about the data mined legendarys that make reference to Star Wars in the description.

2 RespuestasStarwars mythos in the Destiny universe makes no sense. It's like saying put Razelighter in Rogue One. So it's a no. Plus Activision is not going to risk losing their precious money over a potential lawsuit, and neither will they pay royalties cause they're so cheap (no dedicated servers is proof enough). So it's definitely not happening. Not a bad idea though entirely, I'm down for more variety with different sword weapons.

2 RespuestasInteresting concept, but considering the amount of hits it takes to kill, any shotgun would stop you in your tracks. Granted that's what happens anyways when anyone get sword ammo.... Would be fun to use in PvE though.

1 RespuestaDisney and Lucasfilms would crawl ALL up Bungie's ass over something like that. They already let the whole sparrow thing (swoop bike) slide. But steal an iconic image like that of a light saber, and you're just daring Disney to sue.
