KellyGreen2 I'm sorry to have to say this but you have only ever played 8 games of trials and that was 2 years ago.... Why are you even complaining? You haven't even given the playlist an hour of playtime. I have played 2300 games of trials.. Thats 2292 more than you. I think the reason my arguments are falling on deaf ears is because compared to yourself, I am an expert in trials whilst you have only read 1 page of a 100 chapter book.....
Your speaking about trials in a sense of what it represents, not what it actually is...
"So the notion that someone should be excluded from participating in any part of the game becaue they aren't "good enough" is ass-backwards and toxic." - But they simply aren't excluded at all! They can play it all they want! They just shouldn't expect to win.
For example, should bungie give me an easier version of wrath of the machine because I cant kill Aksis with my necrocasm whilst he's immune? A: No they shouldn't, I should learn how to do the damn encounter and pull my finger out my ass.

1 I'm not complaining. I'm offering my opinion about the event. I don't play Trials...and if it wants to remain as toxic and dysfunctional as it is right now.....no skin off my ass. But that doesn't prevent me from seeing that it IS a corrosive influence on this game's community. 2. I've been gaming for 40 years. I've had enough experience with games...and enough life experience with people...to see exactly where Trials was headed pretty quickly. I didn't need to keep sticking my hand in that pot of boiling water to see that the vast majority of people were going to get burned by it... That there was no reason for the average player to show up and support it, an the "elite" would eventually get bored with it, once they farmed everything they wanted from it. 3. No, youre argument is falling on deaf ears because you are not not an HONEST broker here. You are not a "disinterested" party. You are clearly, very strongly identified with Trials (to the point you accuse anyone of criticizing IT, of attacking YOU personally). It also clearly meets some need you have...otherwise you would not have dedicated so much time to it. So no, that doesn't make you an "expert" at what Trials is, and what impact it has on the wider Destiny community. It simply makes you BIASED....and therefore not a reliable source of information in this. 4 ....and this non-sensical argument you just made is a perfect example. Average player are---for all practical purposes-----excluded. There is basically NO REASON for them to show up and submit themselves for the abuse. Bungie tries to entice them to play by offering the bounties....but I don't care how "bad-ass" the armor and the weapons look. They are simply not worth my precious leisure and gaming time to show up to get shit-stomped for the fun and enjoyment of someone's angry 15 year old. That is NOT my idea of fun...and that is not most REASONABLE people's idea of "fun". Which is why Trials is slowly withering and dying...and why Bungie is scrambling trying to do everything they can to entice people to participate (did you you really think making Trials part of this years "Moments of Triumph" book was an accident? Did you think the fact that daily Crucible bounties now have specification for Trials matches was an accident?) 5. Actually Bungie does give you an easier version of the raid: Its called "NORMAL MODE"...and it gives lesser rewards compared to the more difficult "Heroic" and Challenge" MOdes. Trials throws everyone into "Challenge Mode" to sink or swim. The event is just poorly designed and poorly implemented for what it tries to claim as its purpose.
