Dear Bungie,
With the release of [i]The Dawning[/i], we received two new exotic weapons, the [armory]Nova Mortis[/armory] and the [armory]Abbadon[/armory]. Two variations of the [armory]Thunderlord[/armory] with Void and Solar damage respectively. I just recently got Nova Mortis and I love it! I've always had a soft spot for Void damage, despite being a Gunslinger. However, with the release of these two weapons, I have been thinking. Why them?
Firstly, I'm not complaining about anything. We've heard about the possibility of the "Voidlord" and "Firelord" for some time now. Despite Thunderlord, Nova Mortis, and Abbadon being such great weapons, I can only ask why you-- Bungie-- chose them to do different elemental types. There are other, more beneficial mind you, choices out there.
When [i]The Taken King[/i] launched last year, there were no more primary weapons with elemental damage. The only weapons that did were outdated raid weapons from the Vault of Glass and Crota's End. After them, not another weapon was made. Except for one; the [armory]Zhalo Supercell[/armory]. This was an awesome idea in my opinion! An exotic primary weapon that had elemental damage. Unfortunately, it was only limited to arc damage.
Bungie, please let us get variations of the Zhalo Supercell that deal Void and Solar damage. The Grimoire Card for Zhalo Supercell states that the Guardian that built this used random scraps from around the Cosmodrome while trying to survive. So, why not give us a quest where we have to search the Plaguelands or other planets for power sources to power these new weapons?
This will fill the Void left by the lack of raid primary weapons with no elemental damage. I believe the fact that they take up exotic slots balance it out since there are other weapons people might prefer to use, like: the Gjallarhorn, Nova Mortis, Ice Breaker, and many other good weapons.
Thank you, Paradox1055
