I went to visit the family who asked me what game I wanted, and as I don't get to visit them often I got my Christmas gift(s) early.
I ended up choosing Final Fantasy. So my question is.. well, I've heard a metric fckton of good things about this game, and seen a few tiny tips here and there.
Not asking for spoilers or anything similar, but I'd like to know if there is anything easily missed but worth doing. So like, a mission that seems pointless to do but nets you a really useful item, maybe even a mission that requires work to even find or start?
I love games like this and am anticipating putting a lot of time into it.. so I don't want to know things like locations of powerful items or things that are better to find naturally. Any tips at all will be eaten up and taken into account though, and game discussion in general is promoted here. Maybe tell me, from your viewpoint, what you like about the game and what I have to look forward to in your opinion?
Instead of researching by watching videos and all that shit normal people do, lately I've been going in blind. I wouldn't mind discussing this large title with a fan though. Don't be afraid to inbox me even, or post a word wall with no TLDR.

I'd actually advise not hunting them out, as you'll just have to do them again when the quests roll round. Only thing I'm not sure of is a sidequest near Galden Quay. You find a hungry cat you have to feed. I caught a fish and had the lady at the restaurant cook it up for me. Fast forward a few days (real time) and I found a vendor in southern Cliegne selling luxury cat food. I have a feeling I'd have gotten better rewards with the cat food.

7 RespuestasSomething that'll help you in the long run are two abilities in the "Exploration" tab of the ascension where you get AP for making long trips with choccabos and making long trips in the Regalia. I recommend getting both of them as soon as you can.

With that said you can continue to play post game so really no worries. For missions you SHOULD do ASAP is from a npc in leisthum..(not spelled right I'm sure). You pretty much take pictures for him (super easy quests) but the reward is ridiculous experience and gil. Lastly personally just do story quest till chapter 3 then start exploring.
