Funny to read how Americans are always blaming others for this lag. Probably these "others" have a better internet connection than they have. Go and ask your new president to do something about it. Even countries like Russia beat you with their connection.
I'm in the Netherlands, I never had any lag in 3 years of Destiny.

Not that I'm taking any sides, but if you don't realize how your statement is insulting to Americans, then there is no hope for you

4 RespuestasPresident should have no say in the free market and how services are regulated. It's up to the ISP to provide internet. (Government ran anything is a cluster-blam!-) 2nd, most bigger cities here have affordable fast as shit internet. The people with slower speeds, like myself, don't live in the city. 3rd, connection is based of ping rate. Not sure how people still don't realize this. When you're playing against someone on the opposite side of the world, with p2p servers, the ping rate is obviously going to be slightly more. Learn a little more about America, the internet, and how shit works before you make yourself look even dumber.

1 RespuestaOur infrastructure is terrible when it comes to internet. Most of our ISPs are a For Profit companies and when it comes to fixing, upgrading the tv, phone and internet cable it takes a miracle! Some communities and small cities here kicked out the big ISPs and built their own infrastructure and they have excellent internet but most of the big cities have to deal with 10 year old tech, lines, switches, poles, grounds, etc... and takes a whole neighborhood to go down and the customers calling for them to change nodes, lines, switches etc... Its frustrating that in 2016 that many of our neighborhoods and rural areas don't have a solid hard line or fiber connections. We as Americans in most of the country are jealous of most of the European countries internet connection and infrastructure

Editado por Bulked, Apostle of Strengf: 12/11/2016 5:23:59 PMNot to be mean, but Destiny is on P2P connection, so any lag people experience in PvP is likely the cause of host migration. It is entirely possible to be a solid greenbar one match and a red the next depending on who is in the lobby. Just today, I was in a Rumble with 4 people, all greenbar. One more guy joined and literally the entire lobby went to red/yellow. I have 100mbps dload and I experience frequent lag. A lot less this last week though. The complaint isn't about the connection speed of people in other countries, it was about getting matched with people from other countries in a multiplayer game that relies on P2P connection. When we say "we hate getting matched with people from Rwanda" we are not saying we hate your internet, we are saying "why don't they remove sbmm and match us with people closer who won't create a laggy lobby" I'd certainly hope everyone else in the world would say the same about us. "We don't want to be matched with Americans!"

1 RespuestaWhy talk smack about Americans. What's the damn issue ??

Editado por OopsYourself: 12/11/2016 4:59:44 PMIt's not like I haven't seen a ton of posts from people all over the world complaining about lag and latency. It's not just a U.S. problem. Also, using the average in this situation skews the results because of the extreme difference between the midwest United States, and the bigger cities/population hubs of the country.

2 RespuestasEditado por NYDIBS: 12/11/2016 3:37:45 PMDepending on where you live in the US and how much you are willing to pay, we have great internet I have 150 mbps download speeds and could get at least 350 if I wanted to double my monthly bill

You seem to forget that America has that placed called Alaska which would dip the average internet. Same with places like Montana, Colorado, etc. I'm not even from America and I can see how this isn't that accurate. Plus not everyone using internet for gaming. Also you did somewhat insult Americans so don't get pissy at me.

to be fair, everyone blames someone else for their own mistakes. recently there was a guy who "played a lot" and thought he should get better treatment than every other player and not get banned because of his crappy connection xD [spoiler]but what i rly like about 'murica is their president stuff. its always the same. they end up with 2 potatoes to chose from, they want to kill each other for chosing the "wrong" potato and after the first potato is the new president they all go berserk for 3-5 days. after 2 weeks no one gives a shit anymore. and after a month everyone knows the president is a liar like all the others and they want a new one. thats kinda funny. It's not that simple. While several countries have better internet infrastructure on average, the distance will cause significant amounts of latency if someone is connecting to a US lobby from another continent.
