There are people living to 110, but science probably has nothing to do with that anymore than a clean and healthy lifestyle did.

there are other factors to take into account that stem from science though. vaccinations reducing risk of deadly disease or preventing its spread, improved sanitation stuff (disinfectants and shit), the capability to mass produce all foods, the understanding of biology required to know what our bodies need and improved medicines and medical procedures, just to name a few examples
-
The CDC is at least partly responsible for the clean, healthy living part. They help regulate hospital environments, home health standards, they write pamphlets and health tips people stick on walls next to urinals.
-
I'm talking about exercise and healthy eating
-
I'm sure a doctor at some point created a dietary outline based on medical research, which we (at least somewhat) follow. There are medical companies that spend millions of dollars researching which exercises are best, which we then emulate. It all came from somewhere. Every food product we buy was at some time approved by a government certified medical facility. Not all food is healthy but it's healthier than it would have been without these programs.

I know you're going to say anything to prove your point so there's no point in discussing this cause it seriously doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize "vegetable good, laziness bad"
-
You are right it actually takes a nutritionist
-
You are right it actually takes a nutritionist
>TFW you try to get a witty comment in but haven't read the rest of comments
-
I have though
-
Then you would've realized that comment was unnecessary cause we already discussed that
-
I know you're going to say anything to prove your point so there's no point in discussing this cause it seriously doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize "vegetable good, laziness bad"
And it was scientists that made up that bs food pyramid so I think they hurt more than helped
-
And how do you know that vegetables are good?
-
If I eat a salad I feel awake and have more energy. If i eat a pizza i feel tired, Self confirmation. Didn't need science for that.
-
Lol ever heard of the placebo effect?
-
Oh great, another person comes along to tell me about psychology. Hopefully this time they know what they're talking about. So let me get this straight, you're claiming that vegetables and exercise actually have no benefits whatsoever and that I only think it makes me feel better. But earlier you made the witty comment about a nutritionist. So a nutritionist is lying to me then. Huh. So science is lying to me to make me feel better and live longer even though it's not since, that's what the placebo effect is.
-
There is some key to it but the major thing that contributes to a longer live is access to medecine
-
So now you're telling me it's not the placebo effect even though you brought it up? If we want to talk about medicine being a key factor in longevity do we also want to discuss how medicine also has side effects that can lead to addiction, failed liver, failed kidneys, vomiting, internal bleeding, allergic reaction, depression, diarrhea, dehydration, and more? Plus, most diseases that are bacterial or viral can be prevented by just being clean and healthy.
-
Excercise and nutrition is as long as you eat a relatively healthy diet you will be fine
-
Editado por Sainyule: 12/9/2016 9:45:43 PM
than a clean and healthy lifestyle
Damn it's not like I already said that, or well, if you actually read my replies, which you have claimed, you would have realized that
-
How do you know that's not because of some other factor? How do you know it's not purely by coincidence?
-
What else was I doing besides eating a vegetable. Absolutely nothing
-
Really? You sit around all day doing absolutely nothing but eating vegetables? And you think that's healthy?
-
Irrelevant, you asked if I was experiencing other stimuli while eating a vegetable and how I would know it wasn't that other stimuli and not the vegetable. Clearly if I eat a vegetable and feel good and energetic I begin to associate vegetables with feeling good. Doesn't matter where I eat the vegetable or what I'm doing while eating it since I've most likely figured out myself that exercise makes me tired. It's on par with when you eat something bad and you feel sick, you don't believe you have cancer or staring at that wall made you sick, you'll instantly assume it was the food you just ate.
-
So what you're saying is that it's a matter of classical conditioning rather than nutritional value. Either way it's science.
-
Lol wut
-
That's not classical conditioning lmao what It's basic learning
