I ask this because since I started playing Halo, from CE. to Reach, the pvp was the greatest fun I have had in gaming. Hell, it was fun enough to play all the time even with the only rewards being cosmetic armor.
How could destiny pvp be such a letdown from Halo if Bungie was behind both?
Examples, IB. this time is rift. I absolutely loved assult in halo but rift is the worst game mode I have ever tried, I am sitting this one out completely.
Another, how about combined arms? Really? How could the guys that gave us warthogs and scorpions and every other fun and unique vehicle not to mention big team slayer on actual fun playable maps think this is progress?
Overall, the only thing I can definitely say is Bungie and that they continue to improve on is the game play mechanics, going back to halo, destiny is better but what good is that when the game is no longer fun?
I admit that there is no way to ever even begin a realistic balance for pvp when there is so much variety in Destiny but buffing everything so the ttk is below 1 second even on week weapons takes every bit of fun out of it. If I wanted to play cod, I would just play cod, guardians are supposed to be shielded or at least have armor that would allow you to engage in a fight after taking damage. Not the way it is though, you are dead before you can react or whatever is hitting you causes so much flinch (regardless of weapon type which is retarded ) that you are still dead before being able to really fight back.
I really hope destiny 2 has a better approach to pvp, as it is, if the content is as lacking as the first release, pvp is the only reason to stick around and without major changes, it is not worth staying for.

1 Respuesta"343" and "greatness" don't belong in the same sentence. 343 is far from "great".
-
3 RespuestasHigh ttk works in halo because movement is a lot slower. Destiny needs .8-1 second ttk.

microsoft published for all halo games besides wars (and soon wars 2), 3, and 4 which were done by 343.

1 RespuestaThis is not the same Bungie that worked on Halo, most of that Bungie left to other companies, some even stayed with Microsoft to join 343 to work on Halo.

You mean call of duty halo? Yeah real better than reach... Eh sarcasm, no it wasnt
-
Short answer.. YES! Longer answer... Yes they were.. and people are ignorant for not knowing this.

How old is Bungie and the Halo franchise? People move on to different companies or completely change their field of expertise. Nothing is forever even though it would be great if some things were.

5 RespuestasI thank the video game gods everyday that Destiny is not Halo. We need fast ttk times with the movement abilities. To counter your CoD argument, you are welcome to go and play Halo.

Considering how drastic of a change from H3 H4 was, and considering what H5 PvP is, I don't think so.

Halo 4 multi-player was a disaster. I think 343 learned some hard lessons and the free updates for Halo 5 are the direct result of the PR hit 343 took with Halo 4. I was also disheartened to see Bungie make the same mistakes as 343: players spawning with one-hit kill weapons, emphasis on close quarters in maps, weak vehicle combat, and going radio silent while the community erupted in criticism.

3 RespuestasBungie then Vs. Bungie now... the only thing they have in common is the name "Bungie"

7 RespuestasAgreed, Halo CE through Halo Reach's PVP was great. Halo 4 was awesome, and I think I spent more time playing that game than any other game, mainly because I wasn't forced to start most rounds with an AR (I'm deadly with a DMR/BR, but the only way I'm going to kill you with an AR is if I empty the magazine in you and then throw the empty gun at you). I think Halo 5 would be evidence against your theory though. Halo 5 is fun, don't get me wrong, but there are issues with the MP that I hope they address with Halo 6. The radar is FAR too small to allow you time to react, even if you start doing so at the earliest possible moment your opponent is detected. A lot of that may be attributed to the speed at which players move in at 60 FPS. The maps are also far too small for the most part. Many maps feel like you are fighting inside of a sardine can. This makes the game feel like it is emphasizing quick twitch skills rather than strategy, ranged combat, and map control. A good example is that the way shoulder charge works in Halo, it incentivizes you to run wrecklessly around corners, because unless your opponent has a shotgun or sword, being in a sprint gives you the advantage because you can shoulder charge + 1 shot for an easy kill. It's not necessarily a bad thing if you like run'n'gunning, but Halo was never about run'n'gunning. Overall, Halo 5's MP is decent, but I spend far more time in firefight than I do in arena/matchmaking because some of the changes to how the PVP works makes the game frustrating to play sometimes.
