I was playing some casual PvP today. I didn't want to put myself in loads of sweaty situations, just chill and blast some people using either my NLB or Elevating Vision.
I had one player, in a game, send me a lengthy series of voice messages filled with profanity and suggestions of how I should play the game.
I appreciate your opinion that I should "Stop being a filthy scrub and use a f*****g real primary like Clever Dragon" but to be frankly honest... I couldn't give a damn what YOU think I should use. I paid for this game, the same as you. I have every right to use whatever guns/setup I want without some sweaty douche bag, flying around with their Juggernaut/Twilight Garrison/Matador 64 with maxed out range, telling me what I should be running.
I didn't do particularly well, it's just that my play style countered theirs pretty well. I'm pretty hella average at Destiny. I wasn't pulling off any crazy snipes or massive long range kills with my fusion either. I just play the game and I get smack talk from people like this. I know not everyone is like this but it just riles me when the few are like this.
Some people in this community are such bloody elitists. Also, I doubt that you do work for Microsoft and you are going to "get my ass banned" through mass reporting with your friend.

First off, major kudos to you for using a loadout not typically used by the majority of players. I've used NLB/Doctrine and Elevating Vision together before, and it absolutely destroys people who don't expect you to blast them in the face with a fusion rifle. Second off, while you did pay for the game just the same as other people, you also paid for access to a community in the process. You have every right to use what you want, but in the same token, people have a right to judge and criticize you for your loadout choices. This works on the other end of the spectrum, and I find myself struggling to cope with people who refuse to change their loadouts from anything but a pulse rifle/The Last Word and a shotgun. I'm not saying that he isn't an ass for doing so, because he is. I'm just saying that it's bound to happen in this community eventually.

1 RespuestaI never get hate messages. Because everyone loves me and I love everyone! Share the love!

So far I haven't been bombarded with hate messages for using Eyasluna, but I feel for you man
-
the fact that people are condemning others for using the meta truly is....something else.
-
But why do you have to make this post?
-
I think you're too sensitive. This bothered you way too much. If you're getting hatemail, that just means you're playing well enough or poorly enough to piss people off. It doesn't mean that game's community is made of a-hole elitists.

198 RespuestasEditado por TheArtist: 12/5/2016 11:59:45 PMActions have consequences. Simply the act of taking a weapon like NLB into the Crucible is a in-your-face statement. You're basically telling everyone on the other team, "I'M SO MUCH BETTER THAN YOU THAT I DON'T HAVE TO CARRY AROUND A RAPID-FIRE PRIMARY...AND I'LL STILL BEAT YOU." That alone is provocation. If someone snipes me a couple times with it in a match...I will make it my personal mission ( in-game) to come after you. Come after you and do everything within the rules to make your life miserable that game. If you compound that provocation by tea-bagging and any of the other disrespectful shit that people like to do in FPS....you're eventually going to push someone past their breaking point. And they are react to the provocation. Is it right? No. But human beings are human beings. You have EVERY right to do whatever you want... ...as long as you're willing to live with the consequences. If people perceive you as showing them disrespect, they will make sure to send it back your way. ...and if you want respect, then you need to show some....and by rocking NLB...you're already halfway to not showing it. So if you want to do that---and be hate-mail free---then you need to be "more Catholic than the Pope" when it comes to your behavior. Because other players are NOT going to tolerated shit from you that they will from other players.

No one ever gets hate mail for simply playing casually. You were either dragging your team down, showing off or going out of your way to piss people off.

Welcome to Earth, home of shit.

14 RespuestasClever dragon takes no skill to use. NLB takes a lot of skill so who cares. Clever dragons are crutch guns to people who can't get kills any other way.

4 RespuestasThe same thing happened to me in trials. I was using the memory of felwinter on a nightstalker and leading the team in kills and we were winning every game. However, arguably the most toxic person I've ever played with said, "Do you have super?" And I was like, "No. I have double wombo instead." He was freaking out about how I was hurting the team by using it and that he'll leave if I don't take off the artifact while he's the one getting picked first and the worst player on our team. That is all. I just had to vent a little about the scummy people that hide in the shadows of this great community. Have a good day everyone!

2 RespuestasEditado por blade329: 12/6/2016 5:15:39 PMPeople on this forum do that all the time. They always want to tell you to not use shotguns, because only newbs use them or whatever. It's stupid. I don't use a shotgun as a primary, but I have no problem with those who do. I say use whatever combination of gear/weapons that gives you the most enjoyment of the game. That's what it's all about.
